Zechariah 9

¹ Na the message of God against land of Hadrach and city of Damascus be this. Tribes of Israel no be the only people wey know about God. Everybody dey look to him for help.

² This message also dey against city of Hamath wey dey near Damascus. And this message also dey against Tyre and Sidon even though dem wise and dem get skill.

³ Tyre don build war army for herself. People wey dey there don collect silver wey plenty like dust and gold wey plenty like common clay.

⁴ But God go take everything wey dem get. He go destroy their powerful army and use fire destroy the city!

⁵ The city of Ashkelon go see this and dem go fear. The city of Gaza go shake with fear, and people of Ekron go lose their hope when dem see wetin happen. Gaza no go get king again. Nobody go dey live for Ashkelon again.

⁶ The people of Ashdod no go even know who their real fathers be. God talk say, “I go fully destroy Philistines wey dey proud.

⁷ Dem no go eat meat wey get blood or any other food wey dem no suppose eat again. Any Philistine wey remain alive go become part of my people; dem go just be one more tribe for Judah. People of Ekron go become part of my people, as Jebusites don do.

⁸ I go protect my country. I no go allow army pass through am. I no go allow them hurt my people again. I don see how my people don suffer with my own eyes.”

⁹ People of Zion, make una rejoice! People of Jerusalem, make una shout for joy! Look, una king dey come to una! Him na good king wey win victory, but he dey humble. He dey ride on top donkey, on top young donkey wey work animal born.
