Ezekiel 20

¹ Na tenth day of the fifth month of seventh year wey we dey strange land. Some of leader of Israelite community come consult me about will of God, and dem sit down for my front.

³ He talk say, "Mortal man," "speak to these leaders and tell dem the Almighty God dey talk say: una don come to ask my will, no be so? As surely as I be living God, I no go allow una ask me anything I, the Almighty God, don speak.

⁴ Mortal man, say you don ready to pass sentence on top them? So do am. Remind dem of the disgusting things wey their ancestor don do.

⁵ Tell them wetin I dey talk, say. When I chose Israel, I make promise with them. I reveal myself give them for Egypt and I tell dem say: I be the LORD una God.

⁶ Na then I come make promise say I go take them commot for Egypt and I lead to land wey I don chose for them, a rich and fertile land, and land wey fine pass others.

⁷ I tell them make dem throw away the disgusting idols wey dem love and say make dem no make their self unclean with false god of Egypt, because I be the LORD their God.

⁸ But dem provoke and no gree listen to me. Dem no throw their disgusting idol away or give up on top the god of Egypt. I don ready for them make dem feel force of my anger for there in Egypt.

⁹ But I no do am, since that go dishonour to my name, because I don announce to Israel for front of people wey dem dey live with say I go lead dem commot for Egypt.

¹⁰ "And so I lead dem commot from Egypt go desert.

²⁶ I make dem pollute their self with their offering, and I let dem sacrifices their firstborn son. This na to punish them amd show dem say I be God.

²⁷ "Now, Mortal man, tell the Israelite wetin I, the Almighty God dey tell them. This na another way wey their ancestor insult me as they no dey faithful.

²⁸ I bring the come land wey I don promise them. When dem see high hill and gree tree, dem offer sacrifice give all of them. They make me vex with the sacrifice wey dem burn and by the wine wey dem bring as offering.

²⁹ I ask them say: wetin be these high places where una dey go? So they do dey call dem "High places since.

³⁰ Now tell the Israelite wetin I, the Almighty God, dey say: why una must commit the same sin una ancestor don sin and go run after their idol?

³¹ Even today una offer the same gift and mak una self unholy with the same idol by sacrificing una children give dem for fire. And you Israelite still come ask me wetin my will be! As surely as I, the Almighty God, be the living God, I no go allow una ask me anything.

³³ "As surely as I, the Almighty God, be the living God, I warn una say in my anger I go rule over una with strong hand, with all my power.

³⁹ The Almighty God talk say, "And now, all you Israelite, do as una like! Continue to dey serve una idol! But I warn una say after this una go obey and stop to dey dishonour my holy name by offering gift to una idol.

⁴⁰ There for the land , on top my mountain, the mountain of Israel all of una people of Israel go worship me. I go be happy with una and I go expect say make una bring una sacrifice to me,una best offering, and una holy gift.

⁴⁶ He talk say, "Mortal man", "Look south. Speak against am and prophesy against forest for south.

⁴⁷ Tell the south forest make E hear wetin the Almighty God dey talk: Look! I dey start fire, and E go burn every tree wey dey inside you, whether green or dry. Nothing go fit pull am out. E go spread from south go north and everyone go feel the heat of the fire.

⁴⁸ All of them go see say na me, God, dey burn am and that no one fit put am out."
