Isaiah 1

¹ Na message about Judah and Jerusalem wey God show Isaiah son of Amoz during the time when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah be kings of Judah.

² God talk say, "Earth and sky, make una hear wetin I dey say! The children wey I raise don go against me.

³ Cattle dey know who get them, and donkey dey know where their master dey give them food. But that pass wetin my people Israel fit know. Dem no understand at all."

⁴ Una don enter trouble, una nation wey like to dey sin, una wey be corrupt and evil people! Una sin don drag una go down! Una don reject the LORD, the holy God of Israel, and una don turn una back on him.

⁵ Why una continue to dey go against my order? Shey una wan make una punishment increase? Israel, wound don already cover una head, and una mind and heart no well.

⁶ Better sign no dey una body from una head to foot. Injury, sore and open wound don cover una. Una never clean una wound or bandage am. una never put ointment on top am.

⁹ If the LORD Almighty never allow some of the people survive, Jerusalem for don destroy completely, just as Sodom and Gomorrah don destroy.

²² Jerusalem, una be like silver before, but now una no get value; una be good wine before, but now una be only water.

²³ Una leaders dey oppose and dem be friend of thieves; dem dey always accept gift and bribe. Dem no dey defend orphan for court or listen when widows dey present their case.

²⁴ So now, make una listen to wetin the LORD Almighty, powerful God of Israel, dey say: "I go take revenge on una, my enemy, and una no go cause me trouble again.

²⁵ I go take action against una. I go purify una like dem dey mold iron, and I go remove all una impurity.

²⁶ I go give una rulers and adviser like those wey una get before. Then dey go dey call Jerusalem righteous, faithful city."

²⁷ Because God dey righteous, he go save Jerusalem and everyone there wey repent.

²⁸ But he go destroy everyone wey sin and oppose him; he go kill everyone wey forsake him.

²⁹ Una go dey sorry shey una don worship trees and sey una don plant holy garden.

³⁰ Una go dry like oak wey dey die, like garden wey nobody put water.

³¹ Just as spark dey set straw on fire, naso the evil wey powerful people dey do go destroy them, and no one go fit stop the destruction.
