Ezekiel 33

¹ God tell me.

² He talk say, "Son of man", "tell your people wetin dey happen if I bring war come the land. The people of that country go choose of them make he be watchman.

³ When he see enemy dey come, he go shout give everybody.

⁴ If anyone hear and no pay attention and enemy come kill am, the blame go dey on top him.

⁵ His death na him fault, because he no pay attention to warning. He for escape, if he don pay attention, he for escape.

⁶ Assuming say the watchman see the enemy as dem dey come and he no sound alarm, and enemy come kill the sinners, I go hold the watchman responsible for their death.

⁷ "Now, "Son of man, I dey make you watchman for Israel, make you give them the warning wey I don give you.

⁸ If I announce say, evil person go die and you no warn am make he change his way so that he fit save his life, and he con die, as sinner, I go hold you responsible for his death.

⁹ If you warn evil person and he no gree stop to dey sin, he come die, as sinner, I go spare you."

¹⁰ God speak me. He talk say, "Son of man", "repeat to Israelites wetin dem dey say: sins and wrong things wey we don do dey disturb us. We dey waste away. How we fit live?"

¹¹ Tell dem say, as long as I be the living God, e o dey sweet me make I dey see sinners dey die. I dey happy to see dem stop to dey sin and live. Israel stop the evil wey una dey do, why una wan die?

¹² "Now, son of man, tell Israelite say when good person sin, the good wey he don do no go save am. If evil person stop to dey do evil, I no go punish am, and if good person start to dey sin, I no go keep his life.

¹³ I fit promise good person life, but if he dey think say his past goodness dey enough and start to dey sin, I no go remember any good thing wey he don do. He go die for his sin.

¹⁴ I fit warn evil person say he go die, but if he stop to dey sin and start to dey do right and good thing-

¹⁵ For example, if he return security wey he take for loan or return the things wey he don steal- if he stop to dey sin and follow law wey dey give life, he no go die but live.

¹⁶ I go forgive the sin wey he don commit, and he go live because he don do wetin right and good.

¹⁷ "And una people talk say wetin I do no right! No, na their way no right.

¹⁸ When righteous person stop to dey do good ans start to dey do evil, he go die for evil wey he dey do"

¹⁹ When evil someone stop to dey sin and start to dey do right and good thing, he don save his life,

²⁰ But Israel, una talk say wetin I do no right, I go judge una with wetin una do."

²¹ On fifth day of tenth month of twelfth year wey we dey foreign country, someone wey don escape from Jerusalem come tell me say the city don fall.

²⁷ "Tell dem say I, the Almighty God, warn dem say as surely as I be living God, the people wey dey live for city wey don destroy go die. Wild animal go chop those wey dey live for the city. Those wey dey hide for mountain and cave go die of diease"

²⁸ I go empty the city, and the power wey dey make dem proud go end. The mountain of Isreal go wild that no one go fit travel through am.

²⁹ When I go punish the people for their sin and I go waste the country, then dem go know say I be God."

³⁰ God talk say, "Son of man, your people dey talk about you when dem meet for city wall or for doorway of their houses. Dem tell one another say, "Make we go hear which word don come from God now."

³¹ Naso my people gather, come hear wetin you wan talk, but dem no do wetin you tell them say make dem do. Loving words dey their lip, but dem continue to dey greedy.

³² To dem you no pass entertainer wey dey sing love song or wey dey play harp. Dem dey listen to all your word but no dey obey any one of dem.

³³ But when all your word come true- and dem go come true- na then dem go know say prophet dey among them."
