1 Ọ̀RỌ Oluwa tun tọ̀ mi wá, wipe,

1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Ọmọ enia, sọ fun awọn ọmọ enia rẹ, si wi fun wọn pe, Bi emi bá mu idà wá sori ilẹ kan, bi awọn enia ilẹ na bá mu ọkunrin kan ninu ara wọn, ti nwọn si fi ṣe oluṣọ́ wọn:

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

3 Bi on bá ri ti idà mbọ̀ wá sori ilẹ na ti o bá fun ipè, ti o si kìlọ fun awọn enia na:

3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 Nigbana ẹnikẹni ti o bá gbọ́ iró ipè, ti kò si gbà ìkilọ; bi idà ba de, ti o si mu on kuro, ẹjẹ rẹ̀ yio wà lori on tikalarẹ̀.

4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 O gbọ́ iró ipè, kò si gbà ìkilọ: ẹ̀jẹ rẹ̀ yio wà lori rẹ̀. Ṣugbọn ẹniti o gbọ́ ìkilọ yio gbà ọkàn ara rẹ̀ là.

5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

6 Ṣugbọn bi oluṣọ́ na bá ri ti idà mbọ̀, ti kò si fun ipè, ti a kò si kìlọ fun awọn enia; bi idà ba de, ti o ba si mu ẹnikẹni lãrin wọn, a mu u kuro nitori aiṣedẽde rẹ̀, ṣugbọn ẹjẹ rẹ̀ li emi o bere lọwọ oluṣọ́ na.

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

7 Bẹ̃ni, iwọ ọmọ enia, emi ti fi ọ ṣe oluṣọ́ fun ile Israeli; nitorina iwọ o gbọ́ ọ̀rọ li ẹnu mi, iwọ o si kìlọ fun wọn lati ọdọ mi.

7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Ṣugbọn, bi iwọ ba kìlọ fun enia buburu na niti ọ̀na rẹ̀ lati pada kuro ninu rẹ̀, bi on kò ba yipada kuro ninu ọ̀na rẹ̀, on o kù nitori aiṣedẽde rẹ̀, ṣugbọn iwọ ti gbà ọkàn rẹ là.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10 Nitorina, iwọ ọmọ enia, sọ fun ile Israeli; pe, Bayi li ẹnyin nwi, pe, Bi irekọja ati ẹ̀ṣẹ wa ba wà lori wa, ti awa si njoró ninu wọn, bawo li a o ti ṣe le wà lãye.

10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

11 Sọ fun wọn pe, Bi emi ti wà, ni Oluwa Ọlọrun wi, emi kò ni inu-didun ni ikú enia buburu, ṣugbọn ki enia buburu yipada kuro ninu ọ̀na rẹ̀ ki o si yè: ẹ yipada, ẹ yipada kuro ninu ọ̀na buburu nyin; nitori kini ẹnyin o ṣe kú, Ile Israeli?

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12 Nitorina, iwọ ọmọ enia, sọ fun awọn ọmọ enia rẹ, ododo olododo kì yio gbà a là li ọjọ irekọja rẹ̀: bi o ṣe ti ìwa buburu enia buburu, on kì yio ti ipa rẹ̀ ṣubu li ọjọ ti o yipada kuro ninu ìwa buburu rẹ̀: bẹ̃ni olododo kì yio là nipa ododo rẹ̀ li ọjọ ti o dẹṣẹ.

12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13 Nigbati emi o wi fun olododo pe, yiyè ni yio yè, bi o ba gbẹkẹle ododo ara rẹ̀, ti o si ṣe aiṣedẽde, gbogbo ododo rẹ̀ li a kì yio ranti mọ, ṣugbọn nitori aiṣedẽde ti o ti ṣe, on o ti itori rẹ̀ kú.

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

14 Ẹ̀wẹ, nigbati emi wi fun enia buburu pe, Kikú ni iwọ o kú; bi on ba yipada kuro ninu ẹ̀ṣẹ rẹ̀, ti o si ṣe eyi ti o tọ ti o si yẹ;

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 Bi enia buburu ba mu ògo padà, ti o si san ohun ti o ti jí padà, ti o si nrin ni ilana ìye, li aiṣe aiṣedẽde; yiyè ni yio yè, on kì o kú.

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 A kì yio ṣe iranti gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ rẹ̀ ti o ti ndá fun u: on ti ṣe eyi ti o tọ ti o si yẹ; on o yè nitõtọ.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 Sibẹ awọn ọmọ enia rẹ wipe, Ọ̀na Oluwa kò dọgba: ṣugbọn bi o ṣe ti wọn ni, ọ̀na wọn kò dọgba.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18 Nigbati olododo ba yipada kuro ninu ododo rẹ̀ ti o si ṣe aiṣedẽde, on o ti ipa rẹ̀ kú.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19 Ṣugbọn bi enia buburu bá yipada kuro ninu buburu rẹ̀, ti o si ṣe eyiti o tọ ti o si yẹ̀, on o ti ipa rẹ̀ wà lãye.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

21 O si ṣe li ọdun ikejila ikolọ wa, li oṣu kẹwa, li ọjọ karun oṣu, ẹnikan ti o ti salà jade ni Jerusalemu tọ̀ mi wá, o wipe, A kọlù ilu na.

21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

22 Ọwọ́ Oluwa si wà lara mi li àṣalẹ, ki ẹniti o salà na to de; o si ti ṣi ẹnu mi, titi on fi wá sọdọ mi li owurọ; ẹnu mi si ṣi, emi kò si yadi mọ.

22 Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

23 Nigbana ni ọ̀rọ Oluwa tọ̀ mi wá, wipe,

23 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

24 Ọmọ enia, awọn ti ngbe ahoro ile Israeli wọnni sọ, wipe, Abrahamu jẹ ẹnikan, on si jogun ilẹ na: ṣugbọn awa pọ̀, a fi ilẹ na fun wa ni ini.

24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

25 Nitorina wi fun wọn pe, Bayi li Oluwa Ọlọrun wi, pe, ẹnyin njẹ ẹ̀jẹ mọ ẹran, ẹ si gbe oju nyin soke si awọn oriṣa nyin, ẹ si ta ẹjẹ silẹ, ẹnyin o ha ni ilẹ na?

25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?

27 Iwọ wi bayi fun wọn pe, Bayi li Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; Bi emi ti wà, nitõtọ, awọn ti o wà ninu ahoro na yio ti ipa idà ṣubu, ẹniti o si wà ni gbangba oko li emi o si fi fun ẹranko lati pajẹ, awọn ti o si wà ninu odi ati ninu ihò okuta yio ti ipa ajakalẹ-àrun kú.

27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

29 Nigbana ni nwọn o mọ̀ pe emi li Oluwa, nigbati mo ba ti sọ ilẹ na di ahoro patapata, nitori gbogbo irira ti nwọn ti ṣe.

29 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

30 Iwọ ọmọ enia, sibẹ awọn ọmọ enia rẹ nsọ̀rọ si ọ lẹba ogiri ati lẹba ilẹkun ile, ẹnikini si sọ fun ẹnikeji, olukuluku fun arakunrin rẹ̀ wipe, Wá, emi bẹ̀ ọ si gbọ́ ọ̀rọ ti o ti ọdọ Oluwa jade wá.

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

31 Nwọn si tọ̀ ọ wá, bi enia ti iwá, nwọn si joko niwaju rẹ bi enia mi, nwọn si gbọ́ ọ̀rọ rẹ, ṣugbọn nwọn kì yio ṣe wọn: nitori ẹnu wọn ni nwọn fi nfi ifẹ pupọ hàn, ṣugbọn ọkàn wọn tẹ̀le ojukokoro wọn.

31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

33 Ati nigbati eyi bá ṣẹ, (kiyesi i, yio de,) nigbana ni nwọn o mọ̀ pe wolĩ kan ti wà lãrin wọn.

33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
