Amos 4

¹ Make una hear this, women of Samaria wey fat like cow of Bashan wey don chop better, una dey hurt weak people, oppress dem wey poor, una talk say make una husband dey give una drink!

² As Almighty God dey holy, he don promise say, "The day dey come wey dem go drag una comot with hooks, and all of una go be like go be like fish for hook.

³ Dem go drag una comot, throw una out for where wall don break."

⁴ God talk say, "People of Israel, make una go to the holy place for Bethel and sin, if na by force! Make una go Gilgal, sin with all una power! Make una go bring animal to dey sacrifice for morning and night and make una bring una tithes every third day.

⁵ Offer una bread for thanksgiving to God, dey brag about the extra offering wey una bring! Na the kind thing wey una like to dey do be this.

⁶ "Na me be the one wey bring famine to all una cities, yet una no come back to me.

⁷ I no give una crops rain when dem need am, I send rain go one city and e no reach the other city. Rain fall on top one field but the other one dry.

⁸ Dem weak as dem no get water, people of many city go the city wey dem think say dem go see water, but dem no get enough to drink, still una no come back to me.

⁹ "I send strong wind to dry una crops. Insects chop una garden and vineyard, una fig trees and olive trees. Still una no come back to me.

¹⁰ I send disease on top una like the one wey I send on top Egypt. I kill una young men for battle and take una horses comot. I fill una nose with the smell of dead body for una camp. Still una no come to me.

¹¹ God say, "I destroy some of una as I destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, those of una wey survive dey like burning stick wey dem save from fire. Still una no come to me."

¹² "So then, people of Israel I go punish una. And because say I go do this, make una get ready to face the judgement!"

¹³ Na God make mountain and na him make the winds. He dey make him mind known to people, he dey change day and night, he dey walk over the mountains of the earth. Him name na YAHWEH, LORD God Almighty.
