Malachi 1

¹ Na the message wey God give Malachi make he tell people of Israel be this.

² God tell him people say, “I love una.” But dem reply say, “How you don show your love to us? God answer say, “Esau and Jacob na brothers, but I love Jacob and him descendants,

³ and I hate Esau and him descendants. I don destroy Esau hill country and I don leave am for vox.

⁴ If Esau descendants, the Edomites talk say, “Our towns don destroy, but we go rebuild them,” then God go reply say, “Make dem rebuild – I go tear them down again. People go call them ‘The evil country’ and ‘The Nation wey God dey vex with forever.’”

⁵ The people of Israel go see am with their own eyes, and dem go say, “God get power even outside land of Israel!”

⁶ God Almighty tell the priests say, “A son dey honor him father, and a servant dey honor him own master. I be una father - why una no honor me? I be una master - why una no respect me? Una hate me and yet una dey ask, ’How we don hate you?’.

¹⁴ Some people get better, male animals wey dem fit give as sacrifices, but dem no give. Some of una bring better animals and promise say una go give dem to me, but dem change am for secret and give me the one wey don sick. Bad thing go happen to those people. I be the Great King, and people of all nation dey fear me.”
