Leviticus 26

¹ God say, “No make idols or set statue, stone pillars, or carved stones wey una go dey worship. I be the LORD una God.

² Make una dey keep the religious festivals and dey honor the place wey una dey worship me. I be the LORD.

³ If una live according to my laws and obey my commands,

⁴ I go send rain to una at the right time, so that e go produce crops and trees wey go bear fruit.

⁵ Una crops go plenty so tey una go dey harvest corn when time to pick grape don reach, and una go still dey pick grapes when time don reach to dey plant corn. Una go get all una wan eat, and una go live in safety for una land.

⁶ I go give una peace for una land, and una no go dey fear anyone when una dey sleep. I go get rid of dangerous animals for the land, and war no go dey there anymore.

⁷ Una go get victory over una enemies;

⁸ five of una go fit defeat a hundred, and a hundred go fit defeat 10,000.

⁹ I go bless una and give una many children; I go keep my part of the covenant wey I don make with una.

¹⁰ Una harvest go dey so plenty so tey dem go reach una for a year, and una go dey throw wetin remain from old harvest to make space for the new ones.

¹¹ I go live among una for my holy Tent, and I no go ever turn away from una.

¹² I go be with una; I go be una God, and una go be my people.

¹³ I, the LORD una God, bring una out of Egypt so that una no go be slaves again. I break the power wey hold una down and I allow una work with pride.”

¹⁴ God say, “If una no obey my commands, I go punish una.

¹⁵ If una no gree obey my laws and commands and break the covenant wey I don make with una,

¹⁶ I go punish una. I go bring disaster on una – diseases wey no get cure and fevers wey go make una blind and cause una life to waste away. Una go plant una seed, but e no go do una any good, because una enemies go conquer una and eat wetin una don grow.

¹⁷ I go turn against una, so that dem go defeat una, and those wey hate una go rule una; fear go grip una so tey una go dey run when nobody dey chase una.

¹⁸ If una no still obey me after all this, I go increase una punishment seven times.

¹⁹ I go bring down una stubborn pride; rain no go dey, and una land go dry and hard like iron.

²⁰ All una hard work go do una no good, because una land no go produce crops and the trees no go bear fruit.

²¹ If una still continue to dey resist me and no gree obey me, I go increase una punishment seven times again.

²² I go send dangerous animal to una, and dem go kill una children, destroy una livestock, and na only few of una go remain so tey nobody go dey pass una road.

²³ If una no still listen to me after all this punishment, but una continue to dey sin against me,

²⁴ then I go turn to una and punish una seven times harder than before.

²⁵ I go bring war on una to punish una because una break our covenant, and if una gather una cities for safety, I go send incurable disease among una, and una go surrender to una enemies by force.

²⁶ I go cut off una food supply, so that ten women go only need one oven to bake all the bread wey dem get. Dem go share am out, and when una don eat everything, hunger go still dey wire una.

²⁷ If una still continue to dey sin against me and no gree obey me after all this,

²⁸ then I go turn on una in anger and make una punishment harder seven times than before.

²⁹ Una hunger go bad so tey una go dey eat una own children.

³⁰ I go destroy una place of worship on top hills, tear down una incense altar, and throw una dead body on top una fallen idols. Una go dey irritate me.

³¹ I go destroy una cities. I go make una place of worship empty, and I no go gree accept una sacrifices.

³² I go destroy una land completely, even una enemies wey take am go dey surprised of the destruction.

³³ I go bring war on una and scatter una for foreign lands. Nothing go dey una land, and una city go don destroy.

³⁵ The land go come enjoy years of complete rest wey una no fit give am. E go dey empty and get rest as una don lost for land of una enemies.

³⁶ I go bring fear on una people wey survive for enemy land so tey sound of leaf wey dey blow go make una run. Una go run like say na battle dey pursue una, and una go fall when no enemy dey near una.

³⁷ Una go fall on top one another when nobody dey chase una, and una no go fit fight any enemy.

³⁸ Una go die for there, and una enemy land go swallow una.

³⁹ Few of una wey survive for una enemy land go waste away because of una own sin and sin of una ancestors.

⁴⁰ But una descendants go confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors, wey no gree obey my rules and rebel against me,

⁴¹ and make me turn against them and send them to their enemy land. At last, when una descendants don humble and pay penalty of their sin and rebellion,

⁴² I go remember my covenant with Jacob and with Isaac and with Abraham, and I go renew my promise to give my people the land.

⁴³ The land go dey empty. The land go enjoy time to rest. The people wey survive go come accept the punishment for their sin. Dem go learn say dem receive punishment because dem hate my laws and no gree obey my rules.

⁴⁴ Dem don sin. But if dem come to me for help, I no go turn away from them. I go hear them, even if dem dey for their enemy land. I no go destroy them completely. I no go break my covenant with them, because I be the LORD their God.

⁴⁵ I go remember the covenant I get with their ancestor for them. Na me bring their ancestors out of Egypt land so that I fit be their God. Other nations see these things.

⁴⁶ Na these be laws, rules, and teachings wey God give to Israelites. Na these laws be agreement between God and Israelites. God give these laws to Moses on top Mount Sinai.
