Isaiah 50

¹ God talk say, “Shey una think say I send my people away like man wey divorce him wife? Where, be the paper of the divorce? Shey una think I sell una go bondage like a man wey sell him children as slaves? No, una go strange land because of una sins; dem send una commot because of una crimes.

² Why my people no gree answer when I go meet them say make I save them? Why dem no answer when I dey call? Shey I dey too week to save them? I fit dry the sea with a command and I fit turn rivers to desert so that fish wey dey inside them go die because water no dey.

³ I fit make the sky turn dark, like say e dey mourn the dead.”

⁴ The Almighty God don teach me wetin to talk, so that I fit give strength to the weak. He dey make me dey ready to hear wetin him go teach me.

⁵ God don give me understanding, and I never disobey or turn away from him.

⁶ I expose my back to those wey beat me. I no stop them when dem insult me, when dem commot the hair for my beard and spit for my face.

⁷ But their insult no fit hurt me because Almighty God dey help me. I garther myself together. I know say shame no go catch me,

⁸ Because God dey near, and he go prove say I dey innocent. Shey anyone fit bring case against me? Make we go court together! Make he bring him case!

⁹ The Almighty God himself don defend me- who fit prove me guilty? All my accusers go disappear; dem go disappear like cloth wey moth don chop.

¹⁰ All of una wey honour the LORD and wey obey the word of him servant, the way wey una dey waka fit dey dark, but make una trust in God, make una rely on God.

¹¹ All of una wey dey plan to destroy others, na una plans go destroy una. Na God go make this happen by himself ; una go suffer a terrible life.”
