Genesis 22

¹ Sometime later God test Abraham faith, and he call him, "Abraham!" He reply. "Yes, I dey here."

² Take your only son, Isaac, wey you love so much, make you go the land of Moriah. Go sacrifice him as burnt offering for one mountain wey I go show you.

³ Abraham wake up early next morning, he cut wood wey dem go use make fire for the sacrifice and he take two servant with him son, Isaac, and dem begin dey go the place wey God tell him about.

⁴ Third day of their journey, Abraham look up and he see the place for distance.

⁵ He come tell the servant say, "make una stay with the donkey, me and the boy go travel go front small, we go worship there, and we go come back to una. 6Na so Abraham put wood wey dem wan use for sacrifice for Isaac shoulder, and him carry fire and knife. As the two of them dey go,

⁷ Isaac turn to Abraham and he say, "Father, we get fire and wood, but where the sheep wey we go use for sacrifice dey?" 8Abraham come answered him say, "God go provide sheep for sacrifice by himself and dem continued to dey go. 9Wen dem reach the place wey God don tell him about, Abraham come build altar, and he arrange wood on top am. He come tie him son Isaac, he put him for altar on top the wood. 10Abraham come pick knife to kill him son for sacrifice,

¹¹ Naso Angel of God call him from heaven "Abraham! Abraham!" Abraham come reply say, "Yes I dey here".

¹² The angel say, "No hurt the boy. Now I know say you truly fear God, and you no keep your only son from him. 13Abraham con look up and he see a ram. Naso he take the ram and he use am as sacrifice in place of him son. 14Abraham come name the place "Yahweh-Jireh," wey mean "God go provide ". Till this day people still dey use that name as proverb. For mountain of God, he go provide. 15The angel of God con call Abraham from heaven again. Na wetin God talk be dis,

¹⁶ "Because you don obey me, and you no keep your only son.

¹⁷ I dey swear by my own name say, "I go certainly bless you, I go multiply your descendants beyond number. Dem go be like stars for sky and sand wey dey for sea. Your descendants go defeat the city of their enemies,

¹⁸ and all nation of the earth go dey blessed through your descendants because say you don obey me."

¹⁹ Dem come return back to the servant and dem travel back to Beersheba where Abraham continue to dey live. 20After this time, Abraham hear say him brother wife, Milcah, don born eight sons for him brother, Nahor. Uz na the first born, Buz na him brother, na Kemuel follow, "wey be ancestor of Aramis,

²² Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel, 23Bethuel nah him born Rebecca. Na Milcah born these eight sons to Nahor.

²⁴ Reumah, wey be Nahor"s concubine, come born four other children; Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
