Ezra 3

The people of Israel don settle for their towns by the seventh month. Then all of them gather for Jerusalem,

and Joshua son of Jehozadak, him fellow-priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, together with him relatives, rebuild the altar of the God of Israel, so that dem fit burn sacrifices on top am according to the instructions wey dem write for the law of Moses, the man of God.

Even though the people wey return from foreign land dey fear the people wey dey live for the land, dem rebuild the altar for where e dey before. Then dem start to dey burn regular morning and evening sacrifice on top am again.

Dem celebrate the Festival of Shelters according to how dem talk am; dem offer the sacrifices wey dem suppose offer for that day each day;

And in addition dem offer the regular sacrifices wey dem go burn complete and those wey dem go offer for the New Moon Festival and for all other regular gathering wey dem dey worship God, and all the offerings wey dem give voluntarily to God.

Although the people never start to dey rebuild the Temple, dem start to burn sacrifices to God on the first day of the seventh month.

The people don give money to pay the person wey dey build with stone and the carpenters and give food, drink, and olive oil wey dem go send to cities of Tyre and Sidon in exchange for cedar trees from Lebanon, wey dem suppose bring by sea to Joppa. Dem do all these with the permission of Cyrus, emperor of Persia.

So, in the second month of the year dem start work, after dem don come back to the site of the Temple in Jerusalem. Zerubbabel, Joshua, and the rest of their fellow-countrymen, the priests, and the Levites, in fact all of the people wey come back from foreign land to Jerusalem, join the work. Dem put all the Levite wey be twenty years of age or older in charge of the work to dey rebuild the Temple.

The Levite Jeshua and him sons and family, and Kadmiel and him sons(the clan of Hodaviah) join together to dey take charge of rebuilding of the Temple.(Na the Levites of the clan of Henadad help them.)

When the builders start to dey lay the foundation of the Temple, the priests take their trumpets for hand in their robes, and the Levites of the clan of Asaph dey stand there with cymbals. Dem praise God according to the instruction wey dem pass down from the time of King David.

Dem sing praises of God, dem dey repeat the part: "God na good God, and him love for Israel na everlasting." Everybody dey shout with all their strength, dem praise God, because dem don start to dey lay the foundation of the Temple.

Plenty of the older priests, Levites, and heads of clans don see the first Temple, and as dem watch the foundation of this Temple wey dem dey lay, dem cry and weep. But others wey dey there dey shout for joy.

Nobody fit tell the difference wey dey between the shout of joy and the cry, because the noise wey dem dey make loud so tey dem fit hear am for far places.
