Ezekiel 22

¹ God speak to me.

² He talk say, "Son of man", say you don ready to judge the city wey full of murderer? Tell am clearly all the bad things wey she don do.

³ Tell the city wetin I, the Almighty God, dey say: because you don kill so many of your own people and you don pollute yourself as you dey worship idol, your time dey come.

⁴ "people of Jerusalem, you don kill many people. You come make dirty idol, una don sin, and time don come when I go punish una. Una end don come. Other nation go make fun of una and go laugh una.

⁵ People far and near go make of fun of una. Una don destroy una name, and confusion don fill una.

⁶ All leaders of Israel dey trust in their own strength and dey commit murder.

⁷ you people for city no honour una parents. Una dey cheat stranger and dey take advantage of widow and orphan.

⁸ una no respect the holy place, and una n keep Sabbath.

⁹ Some of una dey lie about other so dem fit kill dem. Some of them dey chop food wey dem sacrifice give idols. Some dey commit plenty sexual sin.

¹⁰ Some of them dey sleep with their father wife. Some dey force women wey dey do period get sex with them.

¹¹ Some dey commit adultery, some dey seduce their daughter -in-law or their half -sister.

¹² some of una people dey kill because of money. Some dey put interest on top loan wey dem borrow their fellow-Israelite and dey rich as dem dey take advantage of them. They don forget me." The Almighty God don speak.

¹³ "I go bring my hand on top una killing and stealing

¹⁴ Una think say una still get courage or strength enough to lift una hand when I don finish with una? I, the Almighty God don speak and I dey keep my world.

¹⁵ I go scatter una people for every country and nation and I go end all una evil action.

¹⁶ And so the other nation go dishonour una, but una go know say I be God."

¹⁷ God tell me say,

¹⁸ "Son of man, the people of Israel no dey useful to me. Dem be like waste metal- copper, tin, iron, and lead wey remain after dey don refine silver for fire.

¹⁹ so now I, the Almighty God, dey tell dem say dem no dey useful like that. I go bring all of them together for Jerusalem

²⁰ in the same way wey dem dey put ore of silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin for refining fire. My anger and vex go melt dem as fire dey melt ore.

²¹ Yes, I go gather dem for Jerusalem, I go build fire under dem, and melt dem with my anger.

²² Dem go melt for Jerusalem just as silver dey melt for inside fire, and then dem go know say dem dey feel the anger of God."

²³ God speak to me again.

²⁴ He talk say, "Son of man", tell people of Israel say their land no holy, and so I dey punish am with my anger.

²⁵ The leaders be like roaring lion on top the animal wey dey don kill. Dem kill people, take their money and property wey dem fit get, and with their killing dem turn many to widow.

²⁶ The priest break my law and no respect holy thing. Dem no distinguish between holy thing and thing wetin no holy. Dem no teach different between clean and thing wey no clean, and dem ignore Sabbath. Because of this, people of Israel no respect me.

²⁷ The government official be like wolves, tearing apart animal wey Dem don kill. Dem kill people so that dem fit rich.

²⁸ The prophet don hide these sins like those wey dey cover the wall with whitewash. Dem see false vision and dey make false prediction. Dem claim to dey speak the word of Almighty God, but I, the Almighty God never speak to them.

²⁹ The wealthy dey cheat and rob. Dem dey ill-treat the poor and dey take advantage of foreigner.

³⁰ I dey look for someone wey fit build a wall, who fit stand in the places where the walls don fall and defend the land when my anger is about to destroy am, but I no see anyone.

³¹ So I go loose my anger on top dem, and like fire I go destroy them for wetin dem don do." The Almighty God don speak.
