1 O si pè awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ mejila jọ, o si fun wọn li agbara on aṣẹ lori awọn ẹmi èṣu gbogbo, ati lati wò arùn sàn.
1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 O si rán wọn lọ iwasu ijọba Ọlọrun, ati lati mu awọn olokunrun larada.
2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3 O si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ máṣe mu nkan lọ fun àjo nyin, ọpá, tabi àpo tabi akara, tabi owo; bẹ̃ni ki ẹnyin ki o má si ṣe ni àwọtẹlẹ meji.
3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
4 Ni ilekile ti ẹnyin ba si wọ̀, nibẹ̀ ni ki ẹnyin ki o gbé, lati ibẹ̀ ni ki ẹnyin ki o si ti jade.
4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
5 Iye awọn ti kò ba si gbà nyin, nigbati ẹnyin ba jade kuro ni ilu na, ẹ gbọ̀n ekuru ẹsẹ nyin fun ẹrí si wọn.
5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
6 Nwọn si jade, nwọn nlà iletò lọ, nwọn si nwasu ihinrere, nwọn si nmu enia larada nibi gbogbo.
6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
7 Herodu tetrarki si gbọ́ nkan gbogbo ti nṣe lati ọdọ rẹ̀ wá: o si damu, nitoriti awọn ẹlomiran nwipe, Johanu li o jinde kuro ninu okú;
7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;
8 Awọn ẹlomiran si wipe Elijah li o farahàn; ati awọn ẹlomiran pe, ọkan ninu awọn woli atijọ li o jinde.
8 And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.
9 Herodu si wipe, Johanu ni mo ti bẹ́ lori: ṣugbọn tali eyi, ti emi ngbọ́ irú nkan wọnyi si? O si nfẹ lati ri i.
9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
10 Nigbati awọn aposteli si pada de, nwọn ròhin ohun gbogbo fun u ti nwọn ti ṣe. O si mu wọn, o si lọ si apakan nibi ijù si ilu ti a npè ni Betsaida.
10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
11 Nigbati ọpọ enia si mọ̀, nwọn tẹle e: o si gbà wọn, o si sọ̀rọ ijọba Ọlọrun fun wọn; awọn ti o fẹ imularada, li o si mu larada.
11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
12 Nigbati ọjọ bẹ̀rẹ si irẹlẹ, awọn mejila wá, nwọn si wi fun u pe, Tú ijọ enia ká, ki nwọn ki o le lọ si iletò ati si ilu yiká, ki nwọn ki o le wọ̀, ati ki nwọn ki o le wá onjẹ: nibi ijù li awa sá gbé wà nihinyi.
12 And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
13 Ṣugbọn o wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ fi onjẹ fun wọn jẹ. Nwọn si wi fun u pe, Awa kò ni jù iṣu akara marun lọ, pẹlu ẹja meji; bikoṣepe awa lọ irà onjẹ fun gbogbo awọn enia wọnyi.
13 But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
14 Nitori awọn ọkunrin to ìwọn ẹgbẹdọgbọn enia. O si wi fun awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ pe, ki nwọn ki o mu wọn joko li ẹgbẹ-ẹgbẹ, li aradọta.
14 For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
15 Nwọn si ṣe bẹ̃, nwọn si mu gbogbo wọn joko.
15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16 Nigbana li o mu iṣu akara marun, ati ẹja meji na, nigbati o gbé oju soke, o sure si i, o si bù u, o si fifun awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀, ki nwọn ki o gbé e kalẹ niwaju awọn enia.
16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 Nwọn si jẹ, gbogbo wọn si yó: nwọn ṣà agbọ̀n mejila jọ ninu ajẹkù ti o kù fun wọn.
17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
18 O si ṣe, nigbati o kù on nikan, o ngbadura, awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ si wà lọdọ rẹ̀: o si bi wọn pe, Tali awọn enia nfi emi pè?
18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
19 Nwọn si dahùn wipe, Johanu Baptisti; ṣugbọn ẹlomiran ni, Elijah ni; ati awọn ẹlomiran wipe, ọkan ninu awọn woli atijọ li o jinde.
19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
20 O si bi wọn pe, Ṣugbọn tali ẹnyin nfi emi ipè? Peteru si dahùn, wipe, Kristi ti Ọlọrun.
20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
21 O si kìlọ fun wọn, o si paṣẹ fun wọn, pe, ki nwọn ki o máṣe sọ ohun na fun ẹnikan.
21 And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;
22 O si wipe, Ọmọ-enia ko le ṣaima jìya ohun pipọ, a o si kọ̀ ọ lati ọdọ awọn àgbagba ati lati ọdọ awọn olori alufa, ati lati ọdọ awọn akọwe wá, a o si pa a, ni ijọ kẹta a o si ji i dide.
22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
23 O si wi fun gbogbo wọn pe, Bi ẹnikan ba nfẹ lati mã tọ̀ mi lẹhin, ki o sẹ́ ara rẹ̀, ki o si gbé agbelebu rẹ̀ ni ijọ gbogbo, ki o si mã tọ̀ mi lẹhin.
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 Nitori ẹnikẹni ti o ba fẹ gbà ẹmí rẹ̀ là, yio sọ ọ nù: ṣugbọn ẹnikẹni ti o ba sọ ẹmí rẹ̀ nù nitori mi, on na ni yio si gbà a là.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 Nitoripe ère kini fun enia, bi o jère gbogbo aiye, ti o si sọ ara rẹ̀ nù, tabi ki o fi ara rẹ̀ ṣòfò.
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
26 Nitori ẹnikẹni ti o ba tiju mi, ati ọ̀rọ mi, oju rẹ̀ li Ọmọ-enia yio si tì, nigbati o ba de inu ogo tirẹ̀, ati ti baba rẹ̀, ati ti awọn angẹli mimọ́.
26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
27 Ṣugbọn emi wi fun nyin nitõtọ, ẹlomiran duro nihinyi, ti kì yio ri ikú, titi nwọn o fi ri ijọba Ọlọrun.
27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
28 O si ṣe bi iwọn ijọ kẹjọ lẹhin ọ̀rọ wọnyi, o mu Peteru, ati Johanu, ati Jakọbu, o gùn ori òke lọ lati gbadura.
28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 Bi o si ti ngbadura, àwọ oju rẹ̀ yipada, aṣọ rẹ̀ si fun lawu, o njo fòfo.
29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
30 Si kiyesi i, awọn ọkunrin meji, ti iṣe Mose on Elijah, nwọn mba a sọ̀rọ:
30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
31 Ti nwọn fi ara hàn ninu ogo, nwọn si nsọ̀rọ ikú rẹ̀, ti on ó ṣe pari ni Jerusalemu.
31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32 Ṣugbọn oju Peteru ati ti awọn ti mbẹ lọdọ rẹ̀ wuwo fun õrun. Nigbati nwọn si tají, nwọn ri ogo rẹ̀, ati ti awọn ọkunrin mejeji ti o ba a duro.
32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 Bi o ti nsọ bayi, ikũkũ kan wá, o ṣiji bò wọn: ẹ̀ru si ba wọn nigbati nwọn nwọ̀ inu ikuku lọ.
34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 Ohùn kan si ti inu ikũkũ wá, o ni, Eyiyi li ayanfẹ Ọmọ mi: ẹ mã gbọ́ tirẹ̀.
35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
36 Nigbati ohùn na si dakẹ, Jesu nikanṣoṣo li a ri. Nwọn si pa a mọ́, nwọn kò si sọ ohunkohun ti nwọn ri fun ẹnikẹni ni ijọ wọnni.
36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
37 O si ṣe, ni ijọ keji, nigbati nwọn sọkalẹ lati ori òke wá, ọ̀pọ awọn enia wá ipade rẹ̀.
37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
38 Si kiyesi i, ọkunrin kan ninu ijọ kigbe soke, wipe, Olukọni, mo bẹ̀ ọ, wò ọmọ mi; nitori ọmọ mi kanṣoṣo na ni.
38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
39 Si kiyesi i, ẹmi èṣu a ma mu u, a si ma kigbe lojijì; a si ma nà a tàntàn titi yio fi yọ ifofó li ẹnu, a ma pa a lara, a tilẹ fẹrẹ má fi i silẹ lọ.
39 And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.
40 Mo si bẹ̀ awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ lati lé e jade; nwọn kò si le ṣe e.
40 And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.
41 Jesu si dahùn, wipe, Iran alaigbagbọ́ ati arekereke, emi o ti ba nyin gbé pẹ to? emi o si ti ṣe sũru fun nyin pẹ to? Fà ọmọ rẹ wá nihinyi.
41 And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.
42 Bi o si ti mbọ̀, ẹmi èṣu na gbé e ṣanlẹ, o si nà a tantan. Jesu si ba ẹmi aimọ́ na wi, o si mu ọmọ na larada, o si fà a le baba rẹ̀ lọwọ.
42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
43 Ẹnu si yà gbogbo wọn si iṣẹ ọlánla Ọlọrun. Ṣugbọn nigbati hà si nṣe gbogbo wọn si ohun gbogbo ti Jesu ṣe, o wi fun awon ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ pe,
43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
44 Ẹ jẹ ki ọrọ wọnyi ki o rì si nyin li etí: nitori a o fi Ọmọ-enia le awọn enia lọwọ.
44 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
45 Ṣugbọn ọ̀rọ na ko yé wọn, o si ṣú wọn li oju, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò si mọ̀ ọ: ẹ̀ru si mba wọn lati bère idi ọ̀rọ na.
45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.
46 Iyan kan si dide lãrin wọn, niti ẹniti yio ṣe olori ninu wọn.
46 Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
47 Nigbati Jesu si mọ̀ ìro ọkàn wọn, o mu ọmọde kan, o gbé e joko lọdọ rẹ̀,
47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
48 O si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹnikẹni ti o ba gbà ọmọde yi nitori orukọ mi, o gbà mi: ati ẹnikẹni ti o ba gbà mi, o gbà ẹniti o rán mi: nitori ẹniti o ba kere ju ninu gbogbo nyin, on na ni yio pọ̀.
48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50 Jesu si wi fun u pe, Máṣe da a lẹkun mọ́: nitori ẹniti kò ba lodi si wa, o wà fun wa.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
51 O si ṣe, nigbati ọjọ atigbà soke rẹ̀ pé, o gbé oju le gangan lati lọ si Jerusalemu.
51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
52 O si rán awọn onṣẹ lọ si iwaju rẹ̀: nigbati nwọn si lọ nwọn wọ̀ iletò kan ti iṣe ti ara Samaria lọ ipèse silẹ dè e.
52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53 Nwọn kò si gbà a, nitoriti oju rẹ̀ dabi ẹnipe o nlọ si Jerusalemu.
53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
54 Nigbati awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ Jakọbu on Johanu si ri i, nwọn ni, Oluwa, iwọ ko jẹ ki awa ki o pè iná lati ọrun wá, ki a sun wọn lúlu, bi Elijah ti ṣe?
54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
55 Ṣugbọn Jesu yipada, o si ba wọn wi, o ni, Ẹnyin kò mọ̀ irú ẹmí ti mbẹ ninu nyin.
55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56 Nitori Ọmọ-enia ko wá lati pa ẹmi enia run, bikoṣe lati gbà a là. Nwọn si lọ si iletò miran.
56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
57 O si ṣe, bi nwọn ti nlọ li ọ̀na, ọkunrin kan wi fun u pe, Oluwa, Emi nfẹ lati ma tọ̀ ọ lẹhin nibikibi ti iwọ ba nlọ.
57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
58 Jesu si wi fun u pe, Awọn kọ̀lọkọlọ ni ihò, awọn ẹiyẹ oju ọrun si ni itẹ́; ṣugbọn Ọmọ-enia kò ni ibi ti yio fi ori rẹ̀ le.
58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
59 O si wi fun ẹlomiran pe, Mã tọ̀ mi lẹhin. Ṣugbọn o wi fun u pe, Oluwa, jẹ ki emi ki o kọ́ lọ isinku baba mi na.
59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
60 Jesu si wi fun u pe, Je ki awọn okú ki o mã sinkú ara wọn: ṣugbọn iwọ lọ ki o si mã wãsu ijọba Ọlọrun.
60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
61 Ẹlomiran si wi fun u pe, Oluwa, emi nfẹ lati mã tọ̀ ọ lẹhin; ṣugbọn jẹ ki emi ki o pada lọ idagbere fun awọn ara ile mi.
61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
62 Jesu si wi fun u pe, Kò si ẹni, ti o fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ le ohun-elo itulẹ, ti o si wò ẹhin, ti o yẹ fun ijọba Ọlọrun.
62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
