¹ AWỌN ọkunrin Efraimu si kó ara wọn jọ, nwọn si kọja si ìha ariwa; nwọn si wi fun Jefta pe, Ẽṣe ti iwọ fi rekọja lati bá awọn ọmọ Ammoni jà, ti iwọ kò si pè wa ki awa ki o le bá ọ lọ? awa o fi iná kun ile rẹ mọ́ ọ lori.

¹ And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.

² Jefta si wi fun wọn pe, Emi ati awọn enia mi ti mbá awọn ọmọ Ammoni jà gidigidi; nigbati emi kepè nyin, ẹnyin kò si gbà mi li ọwọ́ wọn.

² And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.

³ Nigbati emi si ri pe ẹnyin kò gbà mi, mo fi ẹmi mi wewu, emi si rekọja sọdọ awọn ọmọ Ammoni, OLUWA si fi nwọn lé mi li ọwọ́: nitori kini ẹnyin ha ṣe gòke tọ̀ mi wá li oni, lati bá mi jà?

³ And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?

⁴ Nigbana ni Jefta kó gbogbo awọn ọkunrin Gileadi jọ, o si bá Efraimu jà: awọn ọkunrin Gileadi si kọlù Efraimu, nitoriti nwọn wipe, Isansa Efraimu li ẹnyin ara Gileadi iṣe, lãrin Efraimu, ati lãrin Manasse,

⁴ Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.

⁵ Awọn ara Gileadi si gbà iwọdo Jordani ṣiwaju Efraimu: o si ṣe, nigbati awọn isansa Efraimu ba wipe, Jẹ ki emi ki o rekọja, awọn ọkunrin Gileadi a si wi fun u pe, Efraimu ki iwọ iṣe? Bi on ba si wipe, Rárá o!

⁵ And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;

⁶ Nwọn a si wi fun u pe, Njẹ wi pe Ṣibboleti; on si wi pe Sibboleti, nitoripe on kò le pè e rere; nwọn a si mú u, nwọn a si pa a si iwọdo Jordani: awọn ti o si ṣubu li akokò na ninu awọn Efraimu jẹ́ ẹgbã mọkanlelogun enia.

⁶ Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

⁷ Jefta si ṣe idajọ Israeli li ọdún mẹfa. Jefta ara Gileadi si kú, a si sin i si ọ̀kan ninu awọn ilú Gileadi.

⁷ And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.

⁸ Lẹhin rẹ̀ ni Ibsani ara Beti-lehemu ṣe idajọ Israeli.

⁸ And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

⁹ O si lí ọgbọ̀n ọmọkunrin, ati ọgbọ̀n ọmọbinrin ti on rán lọ si ode, o si fẹ́ ọgbọ̀n ọmọbinrin lati ode wá fi fun awọn ọmọkunrin rẹ̀. On si ṣe idajọ Israeli li ọdún meje.

⁹ And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

¹⁰ Ibsani si kú, a si sin i ni Beti-lehemu.

¹⁰ Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Bethlehem.

¹¹ Lẹhin rẹ̀ ni Eloni ti ẹ̀ya Sebuluni ṣe idajọ Israeli; on si ṣe idajọ Israeli li ọdún mẹwa.

¹¹ And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.

¹² Eloni ti ẹ̀ya Sebuluni si kú, a si sin i ni Aijaloni ni ilẹ Sebuluni.

¹² And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.

¹³ Lẹhin rẹ̀ ni Abdoni ọmọ Hilleli, ti Piratoni, ṣe idajọ Israeli.

¹³ And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.

¹⁴ On si lí ogoji ọmọkunrin, ati ọgbọ̀n ọmọ ọmọ ti ngùn ãdọrin ọmọ kẹtẹkẹtẹ: on si ṣe idajọ Israeli li ọdún mẹjọ.

¹⁴ And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.

¹⁵ Abdoni ọmọ Hilleli ti Piratoni si kú, a si sin i ni Piratoni ni ilẹ Efraimu, li òke awọn Amaleki.

¹⁵ And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
