AWỌN ọkunrin Efraimu si kó ara wọn jọ, nwọn si kọja si ìha ariwa; nwọn si wi fun Jefta pe, Ẽṣe ti iwọ fi rekọja lati bá awọn ọmọ Ammoni jà, ti iwọ kò si pè wa ki awa ki o le bá ọ lọ? awa o fi iná kun ile rẹ mọ́ ọ lori.

And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
