Nwọn a si wi fun u pe, Njẹ wi pe Ṣibboleti; on si wi pe Sibboleti, nitoripe on kò le pè e rere; nwọn a si mú u, nwọn a si pa a si iwọdo Jordani: awọn ti o si ṣubu li akokò na ninu awọn Efraimu jẹ́ ẹgbã mọkanlelogun enia.

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
