Leviticus 23

¹ God give Moses

² the rules wey follow for religious festival, when people of Israel gather for worship.

³ Una get six days wey una go dey use work, but make una remember say the seventh day, the Sabbath, na day of rest. No dey work for that day, but make una gather for worship. No matter where una dey live, na God get the Sabbath.

⁴ Make una dey celebrate the festivals wey follow for their appointed times.

⁵ The Passover, wey una go dey celebrate to honor God, make e begin when sun don go down on fourteenth day of the first month.

⁶ On fourteenth day the festival of unleavened bread go begin, and make una no eat any bread wey dem make with yeast for seven days.

⁷ For first day of these days, make una gather for worship, and make una no do any of una daily work.

⁸ Make una offer una food offering to God for seven days. Make una gather for worship on the seventh day, but make una no do any of una daily work.

¹⁰ When una enter the land wey God dey give una and una harvest una corn, make una take the first one to the priest.

¹¹ He go offer am as special offering to God, so that God go accept una. The priest go present am day after Sabbath.

¹² On the day una bring the offering of corn, make una also bring a one-year-old male lamb wey no get error for burnt offering.

¹³ Make una bring two kilograms of flour wey dem mix olive oil wit am for food offering. The smell of this offering dey please God. Una go bring one liter of wine as offering with am.

¹⁴ Make una no eat new corn, whether e dey raw, roasted, or wey dem don use bake bread, until una don bring this offering to God. Make all of una descendants dey follow this rule for all time to come.

¹⁵ Make una count seven weeks from the day after Sabbath wey una come present una first corn to God.

¹⁶ On the fifty day, the day after seventh Sabbath, make una present another new offering of corn to God.

¹⁷ Make each family bring two loaves of bread as special gift to God. Make una make each loaf with two kilograms of flour wey una bake with yeast, and make una present am to God as offering of first corn wey una wan harvest.

¹⁸ And with the bread, make the community present seven one-year-old lambs, one bull, and two rams, and make dem no get error. Make una offer them to God as burnt offering, with the grain and wine offering. The smell of this offering dey please God.

¹⁹ Make una also offer one male goat as sin offering and two one-year-old male lamb as fellowship offering.

²⁰ The priest go present the bread with two lambs as special gift to God for all priests. These offerings dey holy.

²¹ Make una no do any of una daily work, but make una gather for worship. Make una descendants dey follow this rule for all time to come, no matter where dem dey live.

²² When una dey harvest una farm, make una no cut the corn wey dey for edge of the farm, and make una no go back to cut ears of corn wey una don leave; make una leave them for poor people and foreigners. Na the LORD be una God.

23-

²⁴ For first day of the seventh month, make una dey get special day of rest, and make una come together for worship when the trumpet don sound.

²⁵ Make una present food offering to God, and make una no do any of una daily work.

26-

²⁷ The tenth day of the seventh month na the day wey una go perform annual ritual to take away sin of the people. For that day, make una no eat anything at all; make una come together for worship, and present a food offering to God.

²⁸ No work for that day, because na the day to perform ritual to take away sin.

²⁹ Anyone wey eat anything for that day no go be one of God people again.

³⁰ And if any person work for that day, God go kill him by himself.

³¹ This rule go apply to all una descendants, no matter where dem dey live.

³² From evening of ninth day of the month take reach evening of tenth day, make una dey get special day of rest, and make una no eat anything.

33-

³⁴ Festival of Shelter go begin on the fifteenth day of seventh month and e go continue for seven days.

³⁵ On the first of these days, make una come together for worship and make una no do any of una daily work.

³⁶ Una go dey present food offering for each day for seven days. On the eight day, make una come together and offer food offering to God. Na worship day, and una no go do any work.

³⁷ These na the religious festivals wey una go use honor God as una dey gather together for worship, and as una dey offer food offering, burnt offering, grain offering, sacrifices, and wine offering, as per day by day.

³⁸ Una go add the festivals join the regular Sabbath days, and una go add the offering to una regular gifts, una offering to fulfil vows, and una freewill offering wey una dey give to God.

³⁹ When una don harvest una farm, make una celebrate this festival for seven days, make e start on the fifteenth day of seventh month. The first day go be special day of rest.

⁴⁰ On that day make una take some best fruit from una trees, take palm tree branch and branch of other tree wey get leaf, and make una start a religious festival to honor the LORD una God.

⁴¹ Make una celebrate am for seven days. Make una descendants dey obey this rule for all time to come.

⁴² All people of Israel go live inside shelter for seven days,

⁴³ so that una descendant go know say God make people of Israel live inside simple shelters when he lead them out of Egypt. He be the LORD una God.

⁴⁴ Na for this way Moses give the people of Israel the rules for religious festivals to dey honor God.
