Leviticus 21

¹ God tell Moses make he tell Aaronite priests say, “Make no priest make himself unclean by attending funeral when him relative die,

² unless na him mother, father, son, daughter,

³ or him sister wey never marry wey dey live for him house.

⁴ Make he no make himself unclean for death of people wey be him relative by marriage.

⁵ Make no priest dey shave any part of him head or trim him beard or cut wound wey dey him body to show say he dey mourn.

⁶ He must dey holy, and make he no disgrace my name. Na him dey offer food offering to me, and he must dey holy.

⁷ A priest no go marry a woman wey don be prostitute or woman wey no be virgin or wey don divorce; he dey holy.

⁸ Make the people dey consider the priest holy, because na him dey present food offering to me. I be the LORD; I dey holy and I dey make my people holy.

⁹ If a priest daughter turn prostitute, she don disgrace her father; make una burn her to death.

¹⁰ The priest don get anointing oil wey dem pour on top him head and dem don dedicate him to dey wear priest garment, so make he no dey leave him hair rough or tear him cloth to show say him dey mourn.

¹² Dem don dedicate him to me, so make he no make himself unclean, and make he no turn my holy Tent unclean by leaving am and go enter a house wey dead body dey, even if na him own father or mother.

¹³ He go marry a virgin,

¹⁴ no be widow or a woman wey don divorce or a woman wey don be prostitute. He go only marry a virgin from him own tribe.

¹⁵ Or else, him children wey suppose dey holy, go be unclean. I be the LORD and I don make him special as High Priest.”

¹⁶ God command Moses

¹⁷ make he tell Aaron say, “None of your descendant wey be disable fit present the food offering to me. Na for all time to come e go be.

¹⁸ No man wey be disable fit make the offering: no one wey dey blind, lame, disfigured, or deformed;

¹⁹ no one wey get cripple hand or foot;

²⁰ no one wey get hunchback or wey be dwarf; no one wey get eye or skin disease; and no man wey dem don castrate.

²¹ Make no descendant of Aaron wey be disable fit present the food offering to me.

²² That kind man fit eat the food wey dem offer to me, both the holy food offering and the very holy food offering,

²³ but because say he be disable, make he no near the holy curtain or near the altar. Make he no make my holy place unholy, because I be the LORD and I dey make them holy.”

²⁴ This na wetin Moses tell Aaron and him sons, and to all people of Israel.
