Isaiah 9
1 Way no go dey for them to escape for this time of trouble. Shame don catch the land of Zebulun and Naphtali before, but future go bring honor to this region, from Mediterranean eastward go the land wey dey the other side of Jordan, and even go Galilee hinself, where foreigners dey live.
2 The people wey walk for inside darkness don see light wey dey great. Dem live for land of shadows, but now light dey shine on them.
3 God, You don give them great joy; you don make them happy. Dem rejoice in wetin you don do, as people dey rejoice when them harvest their own corn or whey dem divide the wealth wey dem don capture.
4 Because you don break the yoke wey dey bother them and you don break the yoke wey dey beat their shoulders. You don defeat the nation wey dey oppress and exploit your people, just as you don defeat the army of Midian long ago.
5 Fire go catch the boots of the invading army and all their clothe wey blood don stain.
6 A son is born to us! A son is given to us! And he go be our ruler. Him name go be , Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Him royal power go continue to dey grow; him kingdom go always get peace. He go rule as as king David successor, him power go dey on right and justice, from now till end of the time. Almighty God don determine to do all this.
8 God don pronounce judgement on top kingdom of Israel, on top descendant of Jacob.
9 All the people of Israel, everybody wey dey live for the city of Samaria, go know shey he don do this. Now dem dey proud and arrogant. Dem talk say,
10 The brick building don fall down, but we go replace them with stone building. The plank of sycamore wood don cut down, but we go replace them with finest cedar.
11 God don wake up their enemies make dem attack them.
12 Syria for the east and Philistia for the west don open their mouth to destroy Israel. Yet the anger of God never end; him hands still dey stretch out to punish.
13 People of Israel never repent; even though Almighty God don punish them, dem no go return to him.
14 God go punish the leaders of Israel and hin people everyday; he go cut their head and tail commot.
15 Na the old and honourable men be the head- and na prophets be the tail wey their teaching be lies!
16 Those wey lead these people don mislead them and dem don confuse them totally.
17 And so God no go allow any of the young men escape, and he no go show pity to any widows and orphans, because all these people no get god and wicked and everything wey dem say na evil.yet the anger of God no go end, him hand go still dey stretch out to punish.
18 The wickedness of the people dey burn like fire wey dey destroy thorn bushes and thistles. E dey burn like forest fire wey dey send out column of smoke.
19 Because the Almighty God dey vex, him punishment dey burn like fire throughout the land and him punishment dey destroy the people, and all man dey for himself.
20 People dey collect and chop any food wey dem see for everywhere in the country, but their hunger never never dey satisfy. Dem dey even chop their own children!
21 The people of Manasseh and the people of Ephraim sey attack each other, and dem attack Judah together. Yet the anger of God never end; him hand still dey stretch out to punish.
