Isaiah 40
1 God say, �Comfort my people!�
2 Comfort them, encourage people of Jerusalem, tell them say dem don suffer long enough and I don forgive them their sin. I don punish them in full for all their sins.�
3 A voice cry out say, �Make you prepare road for God in wilderness! Make clear way for our God inside desert!
4 fill every valley; level every mountain. The hill go become low land, and the rough country go become smooth.
5 Then the glory of God go show, and all human race go see am. na God don promise this by himself.�
6 A voice cry out say, �announce a message!� �I ask say, �Na wetin be the message wey I go announce?� �Announce say all human being be like grass; dem no last pass wild flower
7 Grass dey dry and flower dey fade, when God send wind make e blow over them. People no dey endure pass grass.
8 Yes, grass dey dry and flower dey fade, but words of our God dey last for ever.
9 Jerusalem, make you go up on top high mountain. And announce the good news! Make you shout Zion with loud voice; announce the good news! Make you speak out and no fear. tell town of Judah say their God dey coming!
10 The Almighty God dey come rule with power, and he go bring the people wey he don rescue with him.
11 He go take care of him flocks like shepherd ; he go gather the lamb together and he go con carry them for him arms; he go lead their mother gently.
12 Shey anyone fit use hand measure ocean or use him hand take measure sky? Shey anyone fit hold soil of the earth inside cup or weigh mountain and hill for scale?
13 Shey anybody fit tell God wetin to do? Who fit teach him or advice him?
14 Who God dey consult to know and understand and learn how he suppose dey do things?
15 To God, nation no be anything, e no pass drop of water; the distant island be like dust.
16 All the animals wey dey for Lebanon forest no dey enough for sacrifice for our God, and hin trees dey small to burn the fire.
17 The mountain na nothing to him.
18 Who you fit compare to God? How you fit describe wetin he be like?
19 He no be like idols wey workmen make, wey metalworkers cover am with gold and set am for base of silver.
20 The man wey no fit get silver or gold choose wood wey no fit spoil. He con find skillful craftsman to make image wey no go fall down.
21 Shey you know no? Shey dem no tell you long ago? you never hear how the world start?
22 the one wey sit for him throne above the earth and beyond the sky na him make am; the people wey dey below dey look tiny like ants. He con stretch out sky like curtain, like tent wey person go live.
23 He dey bring down powerful rulers and reduce them to nothing.
24 Dem be like young plant, wey just dey grow and no too get root. When God send wind, dem go dry up and the wind go blow them away like straw.
25 Who you fit compare to God? Shey anybody dey like him?
26 look the sky! Who create the stars wey you dey see? God wey lead them out like army, he know how many dem be and he get name for each one! him power dey very great- none of dem don ever miss before!
27 Israel, why una dey complain say God no know una trouble? Or care if una suffer injustice?
28 Shey una no know? Shey una never hear? The LORD na everlasting God; na him create all the world. He no dey tire or weak. No one fit understand wetin dey him mind.
29 He dey give strength to those wey don weak and tire.
30 Even those wey young dey grow weak; young people fit become wornout.
31 But those wey trust in God for help go get new strength. Dem go rise on wing like eagles; dem go run and dem no go tire; dem go walk and dem no go weak.
