Isaiah 13

¹ This na message about Babylonia , wey Isaiah son of Amoz receive from God.

² Raise the battle flag on top hill! Make you shout to the soldiers and make you raise you arm as signal for them make attack the gate of the city wey dey proud.

³ God don call him proud and confident soldier make them fight hin holy war and fight those wey he dey vex with.

⁴ Make una hear the noise on top mountain- sound of great plenty people. The sound of nations and kingdoms wey dey gather. The ;ORD of army dey prepare him soldiers for battle.

⁵ Dem dey come from far countries for the end of the earth. God dey come to destroy the whole country with him anger.

⁶ Make una cry in pain! The day of God don near, the day when the Almighty go bring destruction.

⁷ Everybody hand go stiff, and courage of everyone go fail.

⁸ Fear go catch all of them and pain go overcome them, like the pain of woman wey dey for labour. Dem go look each other in fear and shame go burn their faces.

⁹ The day of God dey come- that day of him terrible anger and fear. The earth go turn wilderness, every sinners go destroy.

¹⁰ Every star go stop to dey shine, the sun go turn dark when e rise, and the moon no go give light.

¹¹ God say, “I go bring disaster on top earth and I go punish all the wicked people for their sin. I go humble everyone wey dey proud and I go punish everyone wey dey arrogant and wicked.

¹² Those wey survive go dy hard to find like gold.

¹³ I go make heavens shake, and on that day when I, the LORD Almighty, show my anger, the earth go shake commot for hin place.

¹⁴ “The foreigners wey dey live for Babylon go run commot go their own country, dem go scatter like deer wey dey rn away from hunters, dem go be like sheep wey no get shepherd.

¹⁵ Dem go stab anyone wey dem catch to death.

¹⁶ As dem look without help, dem go suffer their pikins to death, dem go rob their house, and dem go rape their wives.”

¹⁷ God talk say, “I dey move Medes make them attack Babylon. Dem no care about silver and gold no dey tempt them.

¹⁸ Dem go kill the young men with their bowls and arrow. Dem no go show small pikin mercy and dem no go show children mercy.

¹⁹ Na Babylonia be the kingdom wey fine pass among all kingdoms, na pride of hin people e be. But I, the Almighty God go overthrow Babylon as I don do to Sodom and Gomorrah!

²⁰ Nobody go ever live for there again. No wandering Arab go ever place him tent for there again, and no shepherd go ever carry him flock go chop for there again.

²¹ E go be place where desert animal dey live and place where owls dey build their nests. Ostriches go dey live for there, and wild goat go dey jump through the destruction.

²² The towers and palace go echo with cry of hyenas and jackals. Babylon time don come! Her days don almost over.”
