Deuteronomy 2

¹ We spend many years dey waka around outside the hill country of Seir

² until God say, "Moses,

³ Israel don waka round for this hill long enough. Make una turn go north.

⁴ And give the people this order say, "Dey very careful, because una go soon go through the land wey belong to una relatives, the descendants of Esau. Dem dey fear una,

⁷ God don help us and he don take care of us for the past

⁴⁰ years wey we don dey inside this huge desert. We don get everything wey we need, and God don bless us and give us success for everything wey we don do.

⁸ We pass territory of our relatives, the descendants of Esau. We follow Arabah Road wey start for south at Elath and Ezion-Geber, then we come turn go desert road wey go to Moab.

⁹ God tell me say, "No try start war with Moab. Leave them alone, because na me give them land of Ar, and I no go allow una get any of am.

¹⁰ Before God give the Moabites their land, a large and powerful tribe don live for their. Dem be the Emim, and dem dey tall like the Anakim.

¹¹ The Moabites call them Emim, others dey use Rephaim for Anakim and Emim.

¹² Na Horites dey live for Seir before, but the Edomites don take over that region. Dem kill many of the Horites and dem force the rest of them commot, just as Israel do to the people for the land wey God give them.

¹³ Naso we cross Zered River, as God don tell us to do.

¹⁴ Na 38 years after we don leave Kadesh-Barnea be this, and that time all the men wey don dey army for Kadesh Barnea don die, just as God don talk say dem go die.

²² God help them as he don help Edomites, wey kill plenty Horites for Seir and force the rest to leave before dem settle for there by themselves.

²³ Na a group wey dem dey call Avvim dey live for far villages take reach south of Gaza, but the Philistine kill them and settle on their land.

²⁴ After we go through Moab, God tell us say, "Israel, make una pack everything wey una get, bring the tent down, make una cross Arnon River. Na territory of Amorite King Sihon of Heshbon dey for other side of the river, but I dey give una him land. So, make una attack and take am!

²⁵ Today, I go start to dey make other nation dey fear una. Dem go tremble in fear when any person mention una, and fear go catch them when una show up.

²⁶ After we don cross Arnon River, and don set up camp for Kademoth Desert, I send messengers to King Sihon of Heshbon, and tell him say him nation and our own fit dey for peace. I say,

²⁷ "Abeg allow Israel pass through your country. We go walk straight, and we no go leave main road.

30-

³¹ But Sihon no allow us pass him country, because God make him get strong-head and he wan fight us. God tell me say, "I go help una defeat Sihon and take him land, make una attack him!"

³² We battle with Sihon and him army for Jahaz,

³³ and the LORD our God help us defeat them. We kill Sihon, him sons, and everyone wey dey him army.

³⁴ We come capture and destroy every town wey dey Sihon kingdom, we kill everyone,

³⁵ but we keep the animals and everything else wey get value.

³⁶ God help us capture every town from Arnon River north take reach boundary of Gilead, with town of Aroer for edge of gorge and town wey dey middle of the hills.

³⁷ But we no touch all the Ammonites town, wey dey hill country and near Jabbok River, just as God don command.
