1 NIGBANA li awa pada, awa si mú ọ̀na wa pọ̀n lọ si aginjù li ọ̀na Okun Pupa, bi OLUWA ti sọ fun mi: awa si yi òke Seiri ká li ọjọ́ pupọ̀.

1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days.

2 OLUWA si sọ fun mi pe,

2 And the LORD spake unto me, saying,

3 Ẹnyin ti yi òke yi ká pẹ to: ẹ pada si ìha ariwa.

3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

4 Ki iwọ ki o si fi aṣẹ fun awọn enia, pe, Ẹnyin o là ẹkùn awọn arakunrin nyin kọja, awọn ọmọ Esau ti ngbé Seiri; ẹ̀ru nyin yio bà wọn: nitorina ẹ ṣọra nyin gidigidi:

4 And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore:

5 Ẹ máṣe bá wọn jà; nitoripe emi ki yio fun nyin ninu ilẹ wọn, ani to bi ẹsẹ̀ kan: nitoriti mo ti fi òke Seiri fun Esau ni iní.

5 Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession.

6 Owo ni ki ẹnyin fi rà onjẹ lọwọ wọn, ti ẹnyin o jẹ; owo ni ki ẹnyin si fi rà omi lọwọ wọn pẹlu, ti ẹnyin o mu.

6 Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink.

7 Nitoriti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ ti bukún ọ ninu iṣẹ ọwọ́ rẹ gbogbo: o ti mọ̀ ìrin rẹ li aginjù nla yi: li ogoji ọdún yi OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ ti mbẹ pẹlu rẹ; ọdá ohun kan kò dá ọ.

7 For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

8 Nigbati awa si kọja lẹba awọn arakunrin wa awọn ọmọ Esau, ti ngbé Seiri, li ọ̀na pẹtẹlẹ̀ lati Elati wá, ati lati Esion-geberi wá, awa pada, awa si kọja li ọ̀na aginjù Moabu.

8 And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

9 OLUWA si wi fun mi pe, Ẹ máṣe bi awọn ara Moabu ninu, bẹ̃ni ki ẹ máṣe fi ogun jà wọn: nitoripe emi ki yio fi ninu ilẹ rẹ̀ fun ọ ni iní; nitoriti mo ti fi Ari fun awọn ọmọ Lotu ni iní.

9 And the LORD said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession.

10 (Awọn Emimu ti ngbé inu rẹ̀ ni ìgba atijọ rí, awọn enia nla, nwọn si pọ̀, nwọn si sigbọnlẹ, bi awọn ọmọ Anaki:

10 The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;

11 Ti a nkà kún awọn omirán, bi awọn ọmọ Anaki; ṣugbọn awọn ara Moabu a ma pè wọn ni Emimu.

11 Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims.

12 Awọn ọmọ Hori pẹlu ti ngbé Seiri rí, ṣugbọn awọn ọmọ Esau tẹle wọn, nwọn si run wọn kuro niwaju wọn, nwọn si ngbé ibẹ̀ ni ipò wọn; gẹgẹ bi Israeli ti ṣe si ilẹ-iní rẹ̀, ti OLUWA fi fun wọn.)

12 The Horims also dwelt in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the LORD gave unto them.

13 Mo ní, Dide nisisiyi, ki ẹ si gòke odò Seredi. Awa si gòke odò Seredi lọ.

13 Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.

14 Ìgba ti awa fi ti Kadeṣi-barnea wá, titi awa fi gòke odò Seredi lọ, o jẹ́ ọgbọ̀n ọdún o le mẹjọ; titi gbogbo iran awọn ologun fi run kuro ninu ibudó, bi OLUWA ti bura fun wọn.

14 And the space in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.

15 Pẹlupẹlu ọwọ́ OLUWA lodi si wọn nitõtọ, lati run wọn kuro ninu ibudó, titi nwọn fi run tán.

15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

16 Bẹ̃li o si ṣe, ti gbogbo awọn ologun nì run, ti nwọn si kú tán ninu awọn enia na,

16 So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

17 OLUWA si sọ fun mi pe,

17 That the LORD spake unto me, saying,

18 Iwọ o là ilẹ Ari lọ li oni, li àgbegbe Moabu:

18 Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:

19 Nigbati iwọ ba sunmọtosi awọn ọmọ Ammoni, máṣe bi wọn ninu, bẹ̃ni ki o máṣe bá wọn jà: nitoripe emi ki yio fi ninu ilẹ awọn ọmọ Ammoni fun ọ ni iní: nitoriti mo ti fi i fun awọn ọmọ Lotu ni iní.

19 And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.

20 (A si kà eyinì pẹlu si ilẹ awọn omirán; awọn omirán ti ngbé inu rẹ̀ rí; awọn ọmọ Ammoni a si ma pè wọn ni Samsummimu.

20 (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;

21 Awọn enia nla, ti nwọn si pọ̀, nwọn si sigbọnlẹ, bi awọn ọmọ Anaki; ṣugbọn OLUWA run wọn niwaju wọn; nwọn si tẹle wọn, nwọn si ngbé ibẹ̀ ni ipò wọn;

21 A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:

22 Bi o ti ṣe fun awọn ọmọ Esau, ti ngbé Seiri, nigbati o run awọn ọmọ Hori kuro niwaju wọn; ti nwọn si tẹle wọn, ti nwọn si ngbé ibẹ̀ ni ipò wọn titi di oni-oloni:

22 As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day:

23 Ati awọn ọmọ Affimu ti ngbé awọn ileto, titi dé Gasa, awọn ọmọ Kaftori, ti o ti ọdọ Kaftori wá, run wọn, nwọn si ngbé ibẹ̀ ni ipò wọn.)

23 And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)

24 Ẹ dide, ẹ mú ọ̀na nyin pọ̀n, ki ẹ si gòke odò Arnoni: wò o, emi fi Sihoni ọmọ Amori, ọba Heṣboni lé ọ lọwọ, ati ilẹ rẹ̀: bẹ̀rẹsi gbà a, ki o si bá a jagun.

24 Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

25 Li oni yi li emi o bẹ̀rẹsi fi ìfoya rẹ, ati ẹ̀ru rẹ sara awọn orilẹ-ède ti mbẹ ni gbogbo abẹ ọrun, ti yio gburó rẹ, ti yio si warìri, ti yio si ṣe ipàiya nitori rẹ.

25 This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.

26 Mo si rán onṣẹ lati aginjù Kedemotu lọ sọdọ Sihoni ọba Heṣboni pẹlu ọ̀rọ alafia, wipe,

26 And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,

27 Jẹ ki emi ki o là ilẹ rẹ kọja lọ: ọ̀na opópo li emi o gbà, emi ki yio yà si ọtún tabi si òsi.

27 Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.

28 Pẹlu owo ni ki iwọ ki o tà onjẹ fun mi, ki emi ki o jẹ; pẹlu owo ni ki iwọ ki o si fun mi li omi, ki emi ki o mu: kìki ki nsá fi ẹsẹ̀ mi kọja;

28 Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet;

29 Bi awọn ọmọ Esau ti ngbé Seiri, ati awọn ara Moabu ti ngbé Ari, ti ṣe si mi; titi emi o fi gòke Jordani si ilẹ ti OLUWA Ọlọrun wa fi fun wa.

29 (As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God giveth us.

30 Ṣugbọn Sihoni ọba Heṣboni kò jẹ ki a kọja lẹba on: nitoriti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ mu u li àiya le, o sọ ọkàn rẹ̀ di agídi, ki o le fi on lé ọ lọwọ, bi o ti ri li oni yi.

30 But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.

31 OLUWA si sọ fun mi pe, Wò o, emi ti bẹ̀rẹsi fi Sihoni ati ilẹ rẹ̀ fun ọ niwaju rẹ: bẹ̀rẹsi gbà a, ki iwọ ki o le ní ilẹ rẹ̀.

31 And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.

32 Nigbana ni Sihoni jade si wa, on ati gbogbo awọn enia rẹ̀, fun ìja ni Jahasi.

32 Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz.

33 OLUWA Ọlọrun si fi i lé wa lọwọ niwaju wa; awa si kọlù u, ati awọn ọmọ rẹ̀, ati gbogbo awọn enia rẹ̀.

33 And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.

34 Awa si kó gbogbo ilu rẹ̀ ni ìgba na, awa si run awọn ọkunrin patapata, ati awọn obinrin, ati awọn ọmọ wẹ́wẹ, ni gbogbo ilu; awa kò jẹ ki ọkan ki o kù:

34 And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:

35 Kìki ohunọ̀sin li a kó ni ikogun fun ara wa, ati ikogun ilu wọnni ti awa kó.

35 Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

36 Lati Aroeri lọ, ti mbẹ leti afonifoji Arnoni, ati lati ilu ni lọ ti mbẹ lẹba afonifoji nì, ani dé Gileadi, kò sí ilu kan ti o le jù fun wa: OLUWA Ọlọrun wa fi gbogbo wọn fun wa:

36 From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us:

37 Kìki ilẹ awọn ọmọ Ammoni ni iwọ kò sunmọ, tabi ibikibi lẹba odò Jaboku, tabi ilu òke wọnni, tabi ibikibi ti OLUWA Ọlọrun wa kọ̀ fun wa.

37 Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbad us.
