Deuteronomy 17

¹ If something dey wrong with ox or a sheep, make una no offer am for sacrifice to the LORD una God " he no go like am!

2-

³ The LORD una God dey give una towns to dey live. But later a man or woman for una town fit start to dey worship other gods, or even sun, moon, or stars. I don warn una say make una no worship other gods, because anyone wey worship them dey disobey the LORD and he go break the agreement wey he make with una.

⁴ So, When una hear say someone for una town dey commit this terrible sin, una must find out if that person really dey guilty.

⁷ But una go need two or three witness " one witness no go dey enough to prove say person dey guilty. Make una get rid of person wey dey guilty of that kind evil. Take them go outside una town gate and make everyone stone them to death. But make the witness first throw the stones.

¹² E fit dey hard to find out truth for some legal cases for una town. Una fit no tell if person die accidentally or dem kill am. Or una fit no tell whether an injury or property wey destroy na by accident or person purposely do am. If the case dey too hard, make una take am to court for the place the LORD una God choose for una to dey worship him. Na one judge and plenty priests wey dey serve for God altar go dey inside this court. Dem go explain the law to una and give una their decision about the case. Make una do wetin dem ask una to do, or dem go kill una.

¹³ When other Israelites hear about am, fear go grip them and dem go dey obey decisions of the court.

¹⁴ People of Israel, after una don capture the land wey the LORD una God dey give una, and una don settle on am, una go say, "We wan get king, just like other nations around us."

¹⁵ Make una appoint a king, but make una dey sure say he be Israelite and make he be the one wey the LORD don choose.

¹⁶ Make the king no get plenty horse, especially from Egypt. God don say make una no go back there again.

¹⁷ And make the king no get plenty wife " dem fit tempt him make he no dey faithful to God. Finally, make the king no try get plenty silver and gold.

¹⁸ Make the priest of Levi tribe keep the original copy of God law. So that when anyone become king, make he go to the priest and write a copy of the laws as dem dey watch.

¹⁹ Make the king dey read and obey the laws each day, so that he go learn to worship the LORD with fear

²⁰ and no think say he better pass everyone else. If the king obey the LORD commands completely, him and him descendants go rule Israel for many years.
