Deuteronomy 15

1-

² Moses say: Every seven years, make una announce say, "God say una no need to pay back loans." Then if una don borrow another Israelite money, una no fit ask for payment again.

³ This law na just for money wey una don borrow other Israelites only. Foreigners go still pay back wetin una don borrow them.

⁶ No one for Israel suppose dey poor. The LORD una God dey give una this land, and he don promise to make una successful, if una obey him laws and commands wey I dey give una today. Una go lend money to other nations, but una no go borrow. Una go rule many nations, but dem no go rule una.

⁷ After the LORD una God give land to each of una, poor Israelites fit dey for town wey una dey live. If dem dey, then make una no dey selfish with una money.

⁸ Make una dey kind and borrow them wetin dem need.

⁹ Make una no talk say, "E go soon be seventh year now, and I no go fit get my money back." E go be bad thing for una to dey think in that way and dey selfish so tey una no gree help the poor. Dem be una relatives, and if una no help them, dem fit ask God to decide if una don do wrong. And he go talk say una dey guilty.

¹⁰ Make una dey happy to give the poor wetin dem need, because God go make una successful for everything una do.

¹¹ Israelites wey dey poor and needy go always dey. Na why I dey command una to dey generous with them be that.

¹² If any of una buy Israelites as slaves, una must set them free after six years.

¹³ And make una no just tell them say dem don dey free "

¹⁴ give them sheep and goats and a good supply of wine and grain. The more God don give una, the more una must give them.

¹⁵ I dey command una to dey obey the LORD as a reminder say una be slaves for Egypt before he set una free.

¹⁶ But one of una slaves fit say, "I love una and una family, and e go better make I stay with una, so abeg no make me go."

¹⁷ Make una take the slave to the door of una house and push a sharp metal rod through one earlobe and into the door. That kind slave go be una own for life, whether dem be men or women.

¹⁸ Make una no complain when una set a slave free. Una don get six years of service at half cost una suppose pay person wey una hire to do the work.

¹⁹ If the first-born animal of a cow or sheep or goat na male, make una give am to God. Make una no put first-born cattle to work or cut wool from first-born sheep.

²⁰ Instead, make una take first born of these animals to the place wey the LORD una God choose for worship. Una and una family go sacrifice them to God and eat them as part of a holy meal.

²¹ But if the animal na lame or blind or something dey wrong with am, make una no sacrifice am to the LORD una God.

²² Una fit kill am for where una dey live, and eat am just like meat of a deer or antelope wey una kill wen una dey hunt. Even people wey dey unclean for worship fir eat out of am.

²³ But make una no eat blood of the animal " make una allow the blood drain for ground.
