Deuteronomy 12

¹ Moses tell people of Israel say: Now I go tell una the laws and commands wey una go dey obey as long as una still dey alive. Una ancestors worship God, and he dey give una this land.

² But the nation wey live for there worship other gods. So after una don capture the land, una must destroy their places of worship " on top mountains and hill or for inside shade of trees.

³ Anywhere these nations worship their gods, una must destroy their altars, break their sacred stones, burn the sacred poles dem dey use worship the goddess Asherah, and break their idols to pieces. Destroy these places of worship completely, so that nobody go remember say dem ever dey there before.

⁴ Make una no worship the LORD una God the way those nations dey worship their gods.

¹⁹ Soon una go cross the Jordan, and God go help una defeat una enemies and allow una live in peace for the land he don give una. But after una don settle, life go dey different. Make una no offer sacrifice anywhere una want. Instead, God go choose a place somewhere in Israel where una must go worship him. Una must take all una sacrifices and offerings go there, plus the sacrifices to please God and any gift una promise or give him by free will. Na that be where una must take one-tenth of una grains, wine, and olive oil, with firstborn of una cattle, sheep, and goats. Una and una family and servants go eat una gifts and sacrifices and celebrate for there at the place of worship, because the LORD una God don make una successful in everything una don do. And since Levites no go get land of their own, una must ask some of them to follow una and celebrate with una. Sometimes una fit wan kill animal for food and no sacrifice. If God don bless una and give una plenty cow or sheep or goat, then una fit kill one of them where una dey live. Una fit eat am just like the meat from deer or antelope wey una kill when una go hunt. ²⁷ Make una make sure say una take all sacrifice and offerings wey una offer to God go the place wey he don choose for una to dey worship him. If una offer sacrifice to please God, Make una burn all the meat on top altar. Una fit eat the meat of some kind sacrifice but make una dey always pour out the blood on top altar.

²⁸ If una obey these laws, una go don do wetin the LORD una God talk say e dey right and good. Then he go help una and una descendants to dey successful.

²⁹ People of Israel, as una go into the land and attack the nations wey dey there, God go get rid of them, and una fit take their land.

³⁰ But na that time una go dey careful make una no ask say, "How those nations dey worship their gods? Shey we no go worship God the same way?"

³¹ No, no try am! God hate the way those nations dey worship their gods, because dem dey even burn their sons and daughters for sacrifice.

³² Make una obey all the laws and commands I dey give una. No add any join am, and no remove any of am.
