1 NJẸ awa o ha ti wi? Ki awa ki o ha joko ninu ẹ̀ṣẹ, ki ore-ọfẹ ki o le ma pọ̀ si i?

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 Ki a má ri. Awa ẹniti o ti kú si ẹ̀ṣẹ, awa o ha ṣe wà lãye ninu rẹ̀ mọ́?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Tabi ẹ kò mọ̀ pe, gbogbo wa ti a ti baptisi sinu Kristi Jesu, a ti baptisi wa sinu ikú rẹ̀?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Njẹ a fi baptismu sinu ikú sin wa pọ̀ pẹlu rẹ̀: pe gẹgẹ bi a ti jí Kristi dide kuro ninu okú nipa ogo Baba bẹ̃ni ki awa pẹlu ki o mã rìn li ọtun ìwa.

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 Nitori bi a ba ti so wa pọ̀ pẹlu rẹ̀ nipa afarawe ikú rẹ̀, a o si so wa pọ pẹlu nipa afarawe ajinde rẹ̀:

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Nitori awa mọ eyi pe, a kàn ogbologbo ọkunrin wa mọ agbelebu pẹlu rẹ̀, ki a le pa ara ẹ̀ṣẹ run, ki awa maṣe sìn ẹ̀ṣẹ mọ́.

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 Nitori ẹniti o kú, o bọ́ lọwọ ẹ̀ṣẹ.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Ṣugbọn bi awa ba bá Kristi kú, awa gbagbọ́ pe awa ó si wà lãye pẹlu rẹ̀:

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Nitori awa mọ̀ pé bi a ti jí Kristi dide kuro ninu okú, kò ni ikú mọ́; ikú kò ni ipa lori rẹ̀ mọ́.

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 Nitori iku ti o kú, o kú si ẹ̀ṣẹ lẹ̃kan: nitori wiwà ti o wà lãye, o wà lãye si Ọlọrun.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Bẹ̃ni ki ẹnyin pẹlu kà ara nyin bi okú si ẹ̀ṣẹ, ṣugbọn bi alãye si Ọlọrun ninu Kristi Jesu.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Nitorina ẹ maṣe jẹ ki ẹ̀ṣẹ ki o jọba ninu ara kiku nyin, ti ẹ o fi mã gbọ ti ifẹkufẹ rẹ̀;

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Bẹ̃ni ki ẹnyin ki o máṣe jọwọ awọn ẹ̀ya ara nyin lọwọ fun ẹ̀ṣẹ bi ohun elo aiṣododo; ṣugbọn ẹ jọwọ ara nyin lọwọ fun Ọlọrun, bi alãye kuro ninu okú, ati awọn ẹ̀ya ara nyin bi ohun elo ododo fun Ọlọrun.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 Nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ kì yio ni ipa lori nyin: nitori ẹnyin kò si labẹ ofin, bikoṣe labẹ ore-ọfẹ.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 Njẹ kini? ki awa ki o ha ma dẹṣẹ̀, nitoriti awa kò si labẹ ofin, bikoṣe labẹ ore-ọfẹ? Ki a má ri.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Ẹnyin kò mọ̀ pe, ẹniti ẹnyin ba jọwọ ara nyin lọwọ fun bi ẹrú lati mã gbọ́ tirẹ̀, ẹrú ẹniti ẹnyin ba gbọ tirẹ̀ li ẹnyin iṣe; ibãṣe ti ẹ̀ṣẹ sinu ikú, tabi ti igbọran si ododo?

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 Ṣugbọn ọpẹ́ ni fun Ọlọrun pe, bi ẹnyin ti jẹ ẹrú ẹ̀ṣẹ rí, ẹnyin jẹ olugbọran lati ọkàn wá si apẹrẹ ẹkọ ti a fi nyin le lọwọ.

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Bi a si ti sọ nyin di omnira kuro ninu ẹ̀ṣẹ, ẹnyin di ẹrú ododo.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 Emi nsọ̀rọ bi enia nitori ailera ara nyin: nitori bi ẹnyin ti jọwọ awọn ẹ̀ya ara nyin lọwọ bi ẹrú fun iwa-ẽri ati fun ẹ̀ṣẹ de inu ẹ̀ṣẹ; bẹ̃ gẹgẹ ni ki ẹnyin ki o jọwọ awọn ẹ̀ya ara nyin lọwọ nisisiyi bi ẹrú fun ododo si ìwa-mimọ́.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20 Nitori nigbati ẹnyin ti jẹ ẹrú ẹ̀ṣẹ, ẹnyin wà li omnira si ododo.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 Njẹ eso kili ẹnyin ha ni nigbana ninu ohun ti oju ntì nyin si nisisiyi? nitori opin nkan wọnni ikú ni.

21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 Ṣugbọn nisisiyi ti a sọ nyin di omnira kuro ninu ẹ̀ṣẹ, ti ẹnyin si di ẹrú Ọlọrun, ẹnyin ni eso nyin si ìwa mimọ́, ati opin rẹ̀ ìye ainipẹkun.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 Nitori ikú li ère ẹ̀ṣẹ; ṣugbọn ẹ̀bun ọfẹ Ọlọrun ni ìye ti kò nipẹkun, ninu Kristi Jesu Oluwa wa.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
