1 FI eti silẹ, ẹnyin enia mi, si ofin mi: dẹ eti nyin silẹ si ọ̀rọ ẹnu mi.

1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 Emi o ya ẹnu mi li owe: emi o sọ ọ̀rọ atijọ ti o ṣokunkun jade.

2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

3 Ti awa ti gbọ́, ti a si ti mọ̀, ti awọn baba wa si ti sọ fun wa.

3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

4 Awa kì yio pa wọn mọ́ kuro lọdọ awọn ọmọ wọn, ni fifi iyìn Oluwa, ati ipa rẹ̀, ati iṣẹ iyanu ti o ti ṣe hàn fun iran ti mbọ.

4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

5 Nitori ti o gbé ẹri kalẹ ni Jakobu, o si sọ ofin kan ni Israeli, ti o ti pa li aṣẹ fun awọn baba wa pe, ki nwọn ki o le sọ wọn di mimọ̀ fun awọn ọmọ wọn.

5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

6 Ki awọn iran ti mbọ̀ ki o le mọ̀, ani awọn ọmọ ti a o bi: ti yio si dide, ti yio si sọ fun awọn ọmọ wọn:

6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

7 Ki nwọn ki o le ma gbé ireti wọn le Ọlọrun, ki nwọn ki o má si ṣe gbagbe iṣẹ Ọlọrun, ṣugbọn ki nwọn ki o pa ofin rẹ̀ mọ́.

7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

8 Ki nwọn ki o máṣe dabi awọn baba wọn, iran alagidi ati ọlọ̀tẹ̀; iran ti kò fi ọkàn wọn le otitọ, ati ẹmi ẹniti kò ba Ọlọrun duro ṣinṣin.

8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

9 Awọn ọmọ Efraimu ti o hamọra ogun, ti nwọn mu ọrun, nwọn yipada li ọjọ ogun.

9 The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

10 Nwọn kò pa majẹmu Ọlọrun mọ́, nwọn si kọ̀ lati ma rìn ninu ofin rẹ̀.

10 They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;

11 Nwọn si gbagbe iṣẹ rẹ̀, ati ohun iyanu rẹ̀, ti o ti fi hàn fun wọn.

11 And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

12 Ohun iyanu ti o ṣe niwaju awọn baba wọn ni ilẹ Egipti, ani ni igbẹ Soani.

12 Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

13 O pin okun ni ìya, o si mu wọn là a ja; o si mu omi duro bi bèbe.

13 He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.

14 Li ọsan pẹlu o fi awọsanma ṣe amọna wọn, ati li oru gbogbo pẹlu imọlẹ iná.

14 In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.

15 O sán apata li aginju, o si fun wọn li omi mímu lọpọlọpọ bi ẹnipe lati inu ibú wá.

15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

16 O si mu iṣàn-omi jade wá lati inu apata, o si mu omi ṣàn silẹ bi odò nla.

16 He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

17 Nwọn si tún ṣẹ̀ si i; ni ṣiṣọtẹ si Ọga-ogo li aginju.

17 And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.

18 Nwọn si dán Ọlọrun wò li ọkàn wọn, ni bibère onjẹ fun ifẹkufẹ wọn.

18 And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.

19 Nwọn si sọ̀rọ si Ọlọrun; nwọn wipe, Ọlọrun ha le tẹ́ tabili li aginju?

19 Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

20 Wò o! o lù apata, omi si tú jade, iṣàn-omi si kún pupọ; o ha le funni li àkara pẹlu? o ha le pèse ẹran fun awọn enia rẹ̀?

20 Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

21 Nitorina, Oluwa gbọ́ eyi, o binu: bẹ̃ni iná ràn ni Jakobu, ibinu si ru ni Israeli;

21 Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;

22 Nitori ti nwọn kò gbà Ọlọrun gbọ́, nwọn kò si gbẹkẹle igbala rẹ̀.

22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:

23 O paṣẹ fun awọsanma lati òke wá, o si ṣi ilẹkùn ọrun silẹ.

23 Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

24 O si rọ̀jo Manna silẹ fun wọn ni jijẹ, o si fun wọn li ọkà ọrun.

24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.

25 Enia jẹ onjẹ awọn angeli; o rán onjẹ si wọn li ajẹyo.

25 Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.

26 O mu afẹfẹ ìla-õrun fẹ li ọrun, ati nipa agbara rẹ̀ o mu afẹfẹ gusu wá.

26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.

27 O rọ̀jo ẹran si wọn pẹlu bi erupẹ ilẹ, ati ẹiyẹ abiyẹ bi iyanrin okun.

27 He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:

28 O si jẹ ki o bọ́ si ãrin ibudo wọn, yi agọ wọn ka.

28 And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

29 Bẹ̃ni nwọn jẹ, nwọn si yo jọjọ: nitoriti o fi ifẹ wọn fun wọn.

29 So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

30 Nwọn kò kuro ninu ifẹkufẹ wọn; nigbati onjẹ wọn si wà li ẹnu wọn.

30 They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,

31 Ibinu Ọlọrun de si ori wọn, o pa awọn ti o sanra ninu wọn, o si lù awọn ọdọmọkunrin Israeli bolẹ.

31 The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.

32 Ninu gbogbo wọnyi nwọn nṣẹ̀ siwaju, nwọn kò si gbà iṣẹ iyanu rẹ̀ gbọ́.

32 For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.

33 Nitorina li o ṣe run ọjọ wọn li asan, ati ọdun wọn ni ijaiya.

33 Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

34 Nigbati o pa wọn, nigbana ni nwọn wá a kiri: nwọn si pada, nwọn bère Ọlọrun lakokò,

34 When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God.

35 Nwọn si ranti pe, Ọlọrun li apata wọn, ati Ọlọrun Ọga-ogo li Oludande wọn,

35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.

36 Ṣugbọn ẹnu wọn ni nwọn fi pọ́n ọ, nwọn si fi ahọn wọn ṣeke si i.

36 Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

37 Nitori ọkàn wọn kò ṣe dẽde pẹlu rẹ̀, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò si duro ṣinṣin ni majẹmu rẹ̀.

37 For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.

38 Ṣugbọn on, o kún fun iyọ́nu, o fi ẹ̀ṣẹ wọn jì wọn, kò si run wọn: nitõtọ, nigba pupọ̀ li o yi ibinu rẹ̀ pada, ti kò si ru gbogbo ibinu rẹ̀ soke.

38 But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

39 Nitoriti o ranti pe, enia ṣa ni nwọn; afẹfẹ ti nkọja lọ, ti kò si tun pada wá mọ.

39 For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

40 Igba melo-melo ni nwọn sọ̀tẹ si i li aginju, ti nwọn si bà a ninu jẹ ninu aṣálẹ!

40 How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

41 Nitõtọ, nwọn yipada, nwọn si dan Ọlọrun wò, nwọn si ṣe aropin Ẹni-Mimọ́ Israeli.

41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

42 Nwọn kò ranti ọwọ rẹ̀, tabi ọjọ nì ti o gbà wọn lọwọ ọta.

42 They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.

43 Bi o ti ṣe iṣẹ-àmi rẹ̀ ni Egipti, ati iṣẹ iyanu rẹ̀ ni igbẹ Soani.

43 How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:

44 Ti o si sọ odò wọn di ẹ̀jẹ; ati omi ṣiṣan wọn, ti nwọn kò fi le mu u.

44 And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.

45 O rán eṣinṣin sinu wọn, ti o jẹ wọn; ati ọpọlọ, ti o run wọn.

45 He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

46 O fi eso ilẹ wọn fun kokoro pẹlu, ati iṣẹ wọn fun ẽṣú.

46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.

47 O fi yinyin pa àjara wọn, o si fi yinyin nla pa igi sikamore wọn.

47 He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.

48 O fi ohun ọ̀sin wọn pẹlu fun yinyin, ati agbo-ẹran wọn fun manamana.

48 He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

49 O mu kikoro ibinu rẹ̀ wá si wọn lara, irunu ati ikannu, ati ipọnju, nipa riran angeli ibi sinu wọn.

49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

50 O ṣina silẹ fun ibinu rẹ̀; kò da ọkàn wọn si lọwọ ikú, ṣugbọn o fi ẹmi wọn fun àjakalẹ-àrun.

50 He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;

51 O si kọlu gbogbo awọn akọbi ni Egipti, olori agbara wọn ninu agọ Hamu:

51 And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:

52 Ṣugbọn o mu awọn enia tirẹ̀ lọ bi agutan, o si ṣe itọju wọn ni iju bi agbo-ẹran.

52 But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

53 O si ṣe amọna wọn li alafia, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò si bẹ̀ru: ṣugbọn okun bò awọn ọta wọn mọlẹ.

53 And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

54 O si mu wọn wá si eti ibi-mimọ́ rẹ̀, ani si òke yi ti ọwọ ọtún rẹ̀ ti rà.

54 And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.

55 O tì awọn keferi jade pẹlu kuro niwaju wọn, o si fi tita okùn pinlẹ fun wọn ni ilẹ-ini, o si mu awọn ẹya Israeli joko ninu agọ wọn.

55 He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

56 Ṣugbọn nwọn dan a wò, nwọn si ṣọ̀tẹ si Ọlọrun Ọga-ogo, nwọn kò si pa ẹri rẹ̀ mọ́.

56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:

57 Ṣugbọn nwọn yipada, nwọn ṣe alaiṣotitọ bi awọn baba wọn: nwọn si pẹhinda si apakan bi ọrun ẹ̀tan.

57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

58 Nitori ti nwọn fi ibi giga wọn bi i ninu, nwọn si fi ere finfin wọn mu u jowu.

58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

59 Nigbati Ọlọrun gbọ́ eyi, o binu, o si korira Israeli gidigidi.

59 When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:

60 Bẹ̃li o kọ̀ agọ Ṣilo silẹ, agọ ti o pa ninu awọn enia.

60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;

61 O si fi agbara rẹ̀ fun igbekun, ati ogo rẹ̀ le ọwọ ọta nì.

61 And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.

62 O fi awọn enia rẹ̀ fun idà pẹlu; o si binu si ilẹ-ini rẹ̀.

62 He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance.

63 Iná run awọn ọdọmọkunrin wọn; a kò si fi orin sin awọn wundia wọn ni iyawo.

63 The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.

64 Awọn alufa wọn ti oju idà ṣubu; awọn opó wọn kò si pohunrere ẹkún.

64 Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.

65 Nigbana li Oluwa ji bi ẹnipe loju orun, ati bi alagbara ti o nkọ nitori ọti-waini.

65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.

66 O si kọlu awọn ọta rẹ̀ lẹhin; o sọ wọn di ẹ̀gan titi aiye.

66 And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.

67 Pẹlupẹlu o kọ̀ agọ Josefu, kò si yàn ẹ̀ya Efraimu:

67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:

68 Ṣugbọn o yan ẹ̀ya Juda, òke Sioni ti o fẹ.

68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.

69 O si kọ́ ibi-mimọ́ rẹ̀ bi òke-ọrun bi ilẹ ti o ti fi idi rẹ̀ mulẹ lailai.

69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.

70 O si yàn Dafidi iranṣẹ rẹ̀, o si mu u kuro lati inu agbo-agutan wá:

70 He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

71 Lati má tọ̀ awọn agutan lẹhin, ti o tobi fun oyun, o mu u lati ma bọ́ Jakobu, enia rẹ̀, ati Israeli, ilẹ-ini rẹ̀.

71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

72 Bẹ̃li o bọ́ wọn gẹgẹ bi ìwa-titọ inu rẹ̀; o si fi ọgbọ́n ọwọ rẹ̀ ṣe amọna wọn.

72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
