1 MO ni, emi o ma kiyesi ọ̀na mi, ki emi ki o má fi ahọn mi ṣẹ̀; emi o fi ijanu ko ara mi li ẹnu nigbati enia buburu ba mbẹ niwaju mi.
1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
2 Mo fi idakẹ yadi, mo tilẹ pa ẹnu mi mọ́ kuro li ọ̀rọ rere: ibinujẹ mi si ru soke.
2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
3 Aiya mi gbona ninu mi, nigbati emi nronu, ina ràn: nigbana ni mo fi ahọn mi sọ̀rọ.
3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
4 Oluwa, jẹ ki emi ki o mọ̀ opin mi ati ìwọn ọjọ mi, bi o ti ri; ki emi ki o le mọ̀ ìgbà ti mo ni nihin.
4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
5 Kiyesi i, iwọ ti sọ ọjọ mi dabi ibu atẹlẹwọ; ọjọ ori mi si dabi asan niwaju rẹ: nitõtọ olukuluku enia ninu ijoko rere rẹ̀ asan ni patapata.
5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
6 Nitotọ li àworan asan li enia gbogbo nrìn: nitotọ ni nwọn nyọ ara wọn lẹnu li asan: o nkó ọrọ̀ jọ, kò si mọ̀ ẹniti yio kó wọn lọ.
6 Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.
7 Njẹ nisisiyi, Oluwa kini mo duro de? ireti mi mbẹ li ọdọ rẹ.
7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
8 Gbà mi ninu irekọja mi gbogbo: ki o má si sọ mi di ẹni ẹ̀gan awọn enia buburu.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9 Mo yadi, emi kò ya ẹnu mi; nitoripe iwọ li o ṣe e.
9 I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.
10 Mu ọwọ ìna rẹ kuro li ara mi: emi ṣegbe tan nipa ìja ọwọ rẹ.
10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
11 Nigbati iwọ ba fi ibawi kilọ fun enia nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ, iwọ a ṣe ẹwà rẹ̀ a parun bi kòkoro aṣọ: nitõtọ asan li enia gbogbo.
11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.
12 Oluwa, gbọ́ adura mi, ki o si fi eti si ẹkún mi, ki o máṣe pa ẹnu rẹ mọ́ si omije mi: nitori alejo li emi lọdọ rẹ, ati atipo, bi gbogbo awọn baba mi ti ri.
12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
13 Da mi si, ki emi li agbara, ki emi ki o to lọ kuro nihinyi, ati ki emi ki o to ṣe alaisi.
13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.
