1 ỌMỌ mi, máṣe gbagbe ofin mi; si jẹ ki aiya rẹ ki o pa ofin mi mọ́.
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 Nitori ọjọ gigùn, ati ẹmi gigùn, ati alafia ni nwọn o fi kún u fun ọ.
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Máṣe jẹ ki ãnu ati otitọ ki o fi ọ silẹ: so wọn mọ ọrùn rẹ; kọ wọn si walã aiya rẹ:
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 Bẹ̃ni iwọ o ri ojurere, ati ọ̀na rere loju Ọlọrun ati enia.
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Fi gbogbo aiya rẹ gbẹkẹle Oluwa; ma si ṣe tẹ̀ si ìmọ ara rẹ.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 Mọ̀ ọ ni gbogbo ọ̀na rẹ: on o si ma tọ́ ipa-ọna rẹ.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Máṣe ọlọgbọ́n li oju ara rẹ; bẹ̀ru Oluwa, ki o si kuro ninu ibi.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 On o ṣe ilera si idodo rẹ, ati itura si egungun rẹ.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Fi ohun-ini rẹ bọ̀wọ fun Oluwa, ati lati inu gbogbo akọbi ibisi-oko rẹ:
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 Bẹ̃ni aká rẹ yio kún fun ọ̀pọlọpọ, ati agbá rẹ yio si kún fun ọti-waini titun.
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 Ọmọ mi, máṣe kọ̀ ibawi Oluwa; bẹ̃ni ki agara itọ́ni rẹ̀ ki o máṣe dá ọ:
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 Nitoripe ẹniti Oluwa fẹ on ni itọ́, gẹgẹ bi baba ti itọ́ ọmọ ti inu rẹ̀ dùn si.
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Ibukún ni fun ọkunrin na ti o wá ọgbọ́n ri, ati ọkunrin na ti o gbà oye.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 Nitori ti òwo rẹ̀ ju òwo fadaka lọ, ère rẹ̀ si jù ti wura daradara lọ.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 O ṣe iyebiye jù iyùn lọ: ati ohun gbogbo ti iwọ le fẹ, kò si eyi ti a le fi we e.
15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Ọjọ gigùn mbẹ li ọwọ ọtún rẹ̀; ati li ọwọ osì rẹ̀, ọrọ̀ ati ọlá.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Ọ̀na rẹ̀, ọ̀na didùn ni, ati gbogbo ipa-ọ̀na rẹ̀, alafia.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 Igi ìye ni iṣe fun gbogbo awọn ti o dì i mu: ibukún si ni fun ẹniti o dì i mu ṣinṣin.
18 The is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 Ọgbọ́n li Oluwa fi fi idi aiye sọlẹ, oye li o si fi pese awọn ọrun.
19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20 Nipa ìmọ rẹ̀ ni ibú ya soke, ti awọsanma si nsẹ̀ ìri rẹ̀ silẹ.
20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
21 Ọmọ mi, máṣe jẹ ki nwọn ki o lọ kuro li oju rẹ: pa ọgbọ́n ti o yè, ati imoye mọ́:
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 Bẹ̃ni nwọn o ma jẹ ìye si ọkàn rẹ, ati ore-ọfẹ si ọrùn rẹ.
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Nigbana ni iwọ o ma rìn ọ̀na rẹ lailewu, iwọ ki yio si fi ẹsẹ̀ kọ.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 Nigbati iwọ dubulẹ, iwọ kì yio bẹ̀ru: nitõtọ, iwọ o dubulẹ, orun rẹ yio si dùn.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Máṣe fòya ẹ̀ru ojijì, tabi idahoro awọn enia buburu, nigbati o de.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 Nitori Oluwa ni yio ṣe igbẹkẹle rẹ, yio si pa ẹsẹ rẹ mọ́ kuro ninu atimu.
26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
27 Máṣe fawọ ire sẹhin kuro lọdọ ẹniti iṣe tirẹ̀, bi o ba wà li agbara ọwọ rẹ lati ṣe e.
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 Máṣe wi fun ẹnikeji rẹ pe, Lọ, ki o si pada wá, bi o ba si di ọla, emi o fi fun ọ; nigbati iwọ ni i li ọwọ rẹ.
28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
29 Máṣe gbìro buburu si ọmọnikeji rẹ, bi on ti joko laibẹ̀ru lẹba ọdọ rẹ.
29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Máṣe ba enia jà lainidi, bi on kò ba ṣe ọ ni ibi.
30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Máṣe ilara aninilara, má si ṣe yàn ọkan ninu gbogbo ọ̀na rẹ̀.
31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
32 Nitoripe irira li ẹlẹgan loju Oluwa; ṣugbọn aṣiri rẹ̀ wà pẹlu awọn olododo.
32 For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
33 Egún Oluwa mbẹ ni ile awọn enia buburu: ṣugbọn o bukún ibujoko awọn olõtọ.
33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
34 Nitõtọ o ṣe ẹ̀ya si awọn ẹlẹya: ṣugbọn o fi ore-ọfẹ fun awọn onirẹlẹ.
34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 Awọn ọlọgbọ́n ni yio jogun ogo: ṣugbọn awọn aṣiwere ni yio ru itiju wọn.
35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
