1 OṢUWỌN eke irira ni loju Oluwa; ṣugbọn òṣuwọn otitọ ni didùn inu rẹ̀.

1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

2 Bi igberaga ba de, nigbana ni itiju de, ṣugbọn ọgbọ́n wà pẹlu onirẹlẹ.

2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3 Otitọ aduro-ṣinṣin ni yio ma tọ́ wọn; ṣugbọn arekereke awọn olurekọja ni yio pa wọn run.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4 Ọrọ̀ kì ini anfani li ọjọ ibinu: ṣugbọn ododo ni igbani lọwọ ikú.

4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

5 Ododo ẹni-pipé yio ma tọ́ ọ̀na rẹ̀: ṣugbọn enia buburu yio ṣubu ninu ìwa-buburu rẹ̀.

5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 Ododo awọn aduro-ṣinṣin yio gbà wọn là: ṣugbọn awọn olurekọja li a o mu ninu iṣekuṣe wọn:

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7 Nigbati enia buburu ba kú, ireti rẹ̀ a dasan, ireti awọn alaiṣedede enia a si dasan.

7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

8 A yọ olododo kuro ninu iyọnu, enia buburu a si bọ si ipò rẹ̀.

8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

9 Ẹnu li agabagebe ifi pa aladugbo rẹ̀: ṣugbọn ìmọ li a o fi gbà awọn olododo silẹ.

9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10 Nigbati o ba nṣe rere fun olododo, ilu a yọ̀: nigbati enia buburu ba ṣegbe, igbe-ayọ̀ a ta.

10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 Nipa ibukún aduro-ṣinṣin ilu a gbé lèke: ṣugbọn a bì i ṣubu nipa ẹnu enia buburu.

11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 Ẹniti oye kù fun gàn ọmọnikeji rẹ̀; ṣugbọn ẹni oye a pa ẹnu rẹ̀ mọ́.

12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13 Ẹniti nṣofofo fi ọ̀ran ipamọ́ hàn; ṣugbọn ẹniti nṣe olõtọ-ọkàn a pa ọ̀rọ na mọ́.

13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

14 Nibiti ìgbimọ kò si, awọn enia a ṣubu; ṣugbọn ninu ọ̀pọlọpọ ìgbimọ ni ailewu.

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.

15 Ẹniti o ba ṣe onigbọwọ fun alejo, ni yio ri iyọnu; ẹniti o ba si korira iṣegbọwọ wà lailewu.

15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

16 Obinrin olore-ọfẹ gbà iyìn: bi alagbara enia ti igbà ọrọ̀.

16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

17 Alãnu enia ṣe rere fun ara rẹ̀: ṣugbọn ìka-enia nyọ ẹran-ara rẹ̀ li ẹnu.

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18 Enia buburu nṣiṣẹ ère-ẹ̀tan; ṣugbọn ẹniti ngbin ododo ni ère otitọ wà fun.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19 Bi ẹniti o duro ninu ododo ti ini ìye, bẹ̃ni ẹniti nlepa ibi, o nle e si ikú ara rẹ̀.

19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

20 Awọn ti iṣe alarekereke aiya, irira ni loju Oluwa; ṣugbọn inu rẹ̀ dùn si awọn aduroṣinṣin:

20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21 Bi a tilẹ fi ọwọ so ọwọ, enia buburu kì yio lọ laijiya, ṣugbọn iru-ọmọ olododo li a o gbàla.

21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22 Bi oruka wura ni imu ẹlẹdẹ bẹ̃ni arẹwà obinrin ti kò moye.

22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 Kiki rere ni ifẹ inu awọn olododo; ṣugbọn ibinu ni ireti awọn enia buburu.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 Ẹnikan wà ti ntuka, sibẹ o mbi si i, ẹnikan si wà ti nhawọ jù bi o ti yẹ lọ, ṣugbọn kiki si aini ni.

24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

25 Ọkàn iṣore li a o mu sànra; ẹniti o mbomirin ni, ontikararẹ̀ li a o si bomirin pẹlu.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

26 Ẹniti o ba dawọ ọkà duro, on li enia o fibu: ṣugbọn ibukún yio wà li ori ẹniti o tà a.

26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

27 Ẹniti o fi ara balẹ wá rere, a ri oju-rere: ṣugbọn ẹniti o nwá ibi kiri, o mbọ̀wá ba a.

27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

28 Ẹniti o ba gbẹkẹle ọrọ̀ rẹ̀ yio ṣubu: ṣugbọn olododo yio ma gbà bi ẹka igi.

28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29 Ẹniti o ba yọ ile ara rẹ̀ li ẹnu yio jogun ofo: aṣiwere ni yio ma ṣe iranṣẹ fun ọlọgbọ́n aiya.

29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 Eso ododo ni igi ìye; ẹniti o ba si yi ọkàn enia pada, ọlọgbọ́n ni.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

31 Kiye si i a o san a fun olododo li aiye: melomelo li enia buburu ati ẹ̀lẹṣẹ.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
