Read John 9
1 BI o si ti nkọja lọ, o ri ọkunrin kan ti o fọju lati igba ibí rẹ̀ wá.
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 Awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ si bi i lẽre, wipe. Olukọni, tani dẹṣẹ, ọkunrin yi tabi awọn obi rẹ̀, ti a fi bi i li afọju?
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesu dahùn pe, Kì iṣe nitoriti ọkunrin yi dẹṣẹ, tabi awọn obi rẹ̀: ṣugbọn ki a le fi iṣẹ Ọlọrun hàn lara rẹ̀.
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 Emi kò le ṣe alaiṣe iṣẹ ẹniti o rán mi, nigbati iṣe ọsan: oru mbọ̀ wá nigbati ẹnikan kì o le ṣe iṣẹ.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 Niwọn igba ti mo wà li aiye, emi ni imọlẹ aiye.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 Nigbati o ti wi bẹ̃ tan, o tutọ́ silẹ, o si fi itọ́ na ṣe amọ̀, o si fi amọ̀ na pa oju afọju na,
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 O si wi fun u pe, Lọ, wẹ̀ ninu adagun Siloamu, (itumọ̀ eyi ti ijẹ Ránlọ.) Nitorina o gbà ọ̀na rẹ̀ lọ, o wẹ̀, o si de, o nriran.
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8 Njẹ awọn aladugbo ati awọn ti o ri i nigba atijọ pe alagbe ni iṣe, wipe, Ẹniti o ti njoko ṣagbe kọ́ yi?
8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
9 Awọn kan wipe, On ni: awọn ẹlomiran wipe, Bẹ̃kọ, o jọ ọ ni: ṣugbọn on wipe, Emi ni.
9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
10 Nitorina ni nwọn wi fun u pe, Njẹ oju rẹ ti ṣe là?
10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
11 O dahùn o si wi fun wọn pe, ọkunrin kan ti a npè ni Jesu li o ṣe amọ̀, o si fi kùn mi loju, o si wi fun mi pe, Lọ si adagun Siloamu, ki o si wẹ̀: emi si lọ, mo wẹ̀, mo si riran.
11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
12 Nwọn si wi fun u pe, On na ha dà? O wipe, emi kò mọ̀.
12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
13 Nwọn mu ẹniti oju rẹ̀ ti fọ́ ri wá sọdọ awọn Farisi.
13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 Njẹ ọjọ isimi lọjọ na nigbati Jesu ṣe amọ̀ na, ti o si là a loju.
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Nitorina awọn Farisi pẹlu tún bi i lẽre, bi o ti ṣe riran. O si wi fun wọn pe, O fi amọ̀ le oju mi, mo si wẹ̀ mo si riran.
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Nitorina awọn kan ninu awọn Farisi wipe, ọkunrin yi kò ti ọdọ Ọlọrun wá, nitoriti kò pa ọjọ isimi mọ́. Awọn ẹlomiran wipe, ọkunrin ti iṣe ẹlẹṣẹ yio ha ti ṣe le ṣe irú iṣẹ àmi wọnyi? Iyapa si wà larin wọn.
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
17 Nitorina nwọn si tun wi fun afọju na pe, Kini iwọ wi nitori rẹ̀, nitoriti o là ọ loju? O si wipe, Woli ni iṣe.
17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
18 Nitorina awọn Ju kò gbagbọ́ nitori rẹ̀ pe, oju rẹ̀ ti fọ́ ri, ati pe o si tún riran, titi nwọn fi pe awọn obi ẹniti a ti là loju.
18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 Nwọn si bi wọn lẽre, wipe, Eyi li ọmọ nyin, ẹniti ẹnyin wipe, a bí i li afọju? ẽhaṣe ti o riran nisisiyi?
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
20 Awọn obi rẹ̀ da wọn lohùn wipe, Awa mọ̀ pe ọmọ wa li eyi, ati pe a bí i li afọju:
20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
21 Ṣugbọn bi o ti ṣe nriran nisisiyi awa kò mọ̀; tabi ẹniti o la a loju, awa kò mọ̀: ẹniti o gbọ́njú ni iṣe; ẹ bi i lẽre: yio wi fun ara rẹ̀.
21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
22 Nkan wọnyi li awọn obi rẹ̀ sọ, nitoriti nwọn bẹ̀ru awọn Ju: nitori awọn Ju ti fi ohùn ṣọkan pe, bi ẹnikan ba jẹwọ pe, Kristi ni iṣe, nwọn ó yọ ọ kuro ninu sinagogu.
22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Nitori eyi li awọn obi rẹ̀ fi wipe, Ẹniti o gbọ́njú ni iṣe; ẹ bi i lẽre.
23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
24 Nitorina nwọn pè ọkunrin afọju na lẹ̃keji, nwọn si wi fun u pe, Fi ogo fun Ọlọrun: awa mọ̀ pe ẹlẹṣẹ li ọkunrin yi iṣe.
24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
25 Nitorina o dahùn o si wipe, Bi ẹlẹṣẹ ni, emi kò mọ̀: ohun kan ni mo mọ̀, pe mo ti fọju ri, mo riran nisisiyi.
25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Nitorina nwọn wi fun u pe, Kili o ṣe si ọ? o ti ṣe là ọ loju?
26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
27 O da wọn lohùn wipe, Emi ti sọ fun nyin na, ẹnyin ko si gbọ́: nitori kini ẹnyin ṣe nfẹ tún gbọ́? ẹnyin pẹlu nfẹ ṣe ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ bi?
27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
28 Nwọn si fi i ṣe ẹlẹyà, nwọn si wipe, Iwọ li ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀; ṣugbọn ọmọ-ẹhin Mose li awa.
28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.
29 Awa mọ̀ pe Ọlọrun ba Mose sọ̀rọ: ṣugbọn bi o ṣe ti eleyi, awa kò mọ̀ ibiti o gbé ti wá.
29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
30 Ọkunrin na dahùn o si wi fun wọn pe, Ohun iyanu sá li eyi, pe, ẹnyin kò mọ̀ ibiti o gbé ti wá, ṣugbọn on sá ti là mi loju.
30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
31 Awa mọ̀ pe, Ọlọrun ki igbọ́ ti ẹlẹṣẹ: ṣugbọn bi ẹnikan ba ṣe olufọkansin si Ọlọrun, ti o ba si nṣe ifẹ rẹ̀, on ni igbọ́ tirẹ̀.
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
32 Lati igba ti aiye ti ṣẹ̀, a kò ti igbọ́ pe, ẹnikan là oju ẹniti a bí li afọju rí.
32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33 Ibaṣepe ọkunrin yi ko ti ọdọ Ọlọrun wá, kì ba ti le ṣe ohunkohun.
33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
34 Nwọn si dahùn wi fun u pe, Ninu ẹṣẹ li a bi iwọ patapata, iwọ si nkọ́ wa bi? Nwọn si tì i sode.
34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
35 Jesu gbọ́ pe, nwọn ti tì i sode; nigbati o si ri i, o wipe, Iwọ gbà Ọmọ Ọlọrun gbọ́ bi?
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 On si dahùn wipe, Tani, Oluwa, ki emi ki o le gbà a gbọ́?
36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
37 Jesu wi fun u pe, Iwọ ti ri i, on na si ni ẹniti mba ọ sọ̀rọ yi.
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 O si wipe, Oluwa, mo gbagbọ́, o si wolẹ fun u.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 Jesu si wipe, Nitori idajọ ni mo ṣe wá si aiye yi, ki awọn ti kò riran, le riran; ati ki awọn ti o riran le di afọju.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 Ninu awọn Farisi ti o wà lọdọ rẹ̀ gbọ́ nkan wọnyi, nwọn si wi fun u pe, Awa pẹlu fọju bi?
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesu wi fun wọn pe, Ibaṣepe ẹnyin fọju, ẹnyin kì ba ti li ẹ̀ṣẹ: ṣugbọn nisisiyi ẹnyin wipe, Awa riran; nitorina ẹ̀ṣẹ nyin wà sibẹ̀.
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
