1 PẸLUPẸLU Jobu si tun gbẹnu le ọ̀rọ rẹ̀ o si wipe,

1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

2 A! ibaṣepe emi wà bi igba oṣu ti o kọja, bi ọjọ ti Ọlọrun pa mi mọ́!

2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;

3 Nigbati fitila rẹ̀ tàn si mi li ori, ati nipa imọlẹ rẹ̀ emi rìn ninu òkunkun ja.

3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;

4 Bi mo ti ri nigba ọ̀dọ́ mi, nigbati aṣiri Ọlọrun wà ninu agọ mi.

4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;

5 Nigbati Olodumare wà sibẹ pẹlu mi, nigbati awọn ọmọ mi wà yi mi ka.

5 When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me;

6 Nigbati emi nfi ori-amọ wẹ̀ iṣisẹ mi, ati ti apata ntú iṣàn ororo jade fun mi wá.

6 When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;

7 Nigbati mo jade là arin ilu lọ si ẹnu ibode, nigbati mo tẹ ìtẹ mi ni igboro.

7 When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!

8 Nigbana ni awọn ọdọmọkunrin ri mi, nwọn si sapamọ́, awọn àgba dide duro.

8 The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.

9 Awọn ọmọ-alade dakẹ ọ̀rọ sisọ, nwọn a si fi ọwọ wọn le ẹnu.

9 The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.

10 Awọn ọlọla dakẹ, ahọn wọn si lẹmọ èrigi ẹnu wọn.

10 The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

11 Nitoripe eti gbọ́ ti emi, a si sure fun mi, oju si ri mi, on a jẹri mi.

11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:

12 Nitoriti mo gba talaka ti nsọkun, ati alainibaba, ati alaini oluranlọwọ.

12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

13 Isure ẹniti o fẹrẹ iṣegbe wa si ori mi, emi si mu aiya opo kọrin fun ayọ̀.

13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

14 Emi si mu ododo wọ̀, o si bò mi lara; idajọ mi dabi aṣọ igunwa ati ade ọba.

14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

15 Mo ṣe oju fun afọju, ati ẹsẹ̀ fun amọkún.

15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

16 Mo ṣe baba fun talaka, ati ọ̀ran ti emi kò mọ̀, mo wadi rẹ̀ ri.

16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

17 Mo si ká ehin ẹ̀rẹkẹ enia buburu, mo si ja ohun ọdẹ na kuro li ehin rẹ̀.

17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

18 Nigbana ni mo wipe, emi o kú ninu itẹ mi, emi o si mu ọjọ mi pọ̀ si i bi iyanrin. (bi ọjọ ti ẹiyẹ Feniksi.)

18 Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

19 Gbongbo mi ta lọ si ibi omi, ìri si sẹ̀ si ara ẹká mi titi li oru.

19 My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.

20 Ogo mi gberu lọdọ mi, ọrun mi si pada di titun li ọwọ mi.

20 My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

21 Emi li enia ndẹti silẹ si, nwọn a si duro, nwọn a si dakẹ ninu ìgbimọ mi.

21 Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.

22 Lẹhin ọ̀rọ mi nwọn kò si tun sọ mọ́, ọ̀rọ mi bọ́ si wọn li eti.

22 After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.

23 Nwọn a si duro dè mi bi ẹnipe fun ojo; nwọn si yanu wọn gboro bi ẹnipe fun ojo àrọ-kuro.

23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

24 Emi si rẹrin si wọn nigbati nwọn kò ba gba a gbọ́; imọlẹ oju mi ni nwọn kò le imu rẹ̀wẹsi.

24 If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.

25 Mo la ọ̀na silẹ fun wọn, mo si joko bi Olu, mo si joko bi ọba ninu ogun, bi ẹniti ntù aṣọ̀fọ̀ ninu.

25 I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.
