Read Job 28
1 NITOTỌ ipa-ilẹ fàdaka mbẹ, ati ibi ti nwọn a ma idà wura.
1 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
2 Ninu ilẹ li a gbe nwà irin, bàba li a si ndà lati inu okuta wá.
2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
3 Enia li o pari òkunkun, o si ṣe awari okuta òkunkun ati ti inu ojiji ikú si iha gbogbo.
3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
4 Nwọn wá iho ilẹ ti o jìn si awọn ti o ngbe oke, awọn ti ẹsẹ enia gbagbe nwọn rọ si isalẹ, nwọn rọ si isalẹ jina si awọn enia.
4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
5 Bi o ṣe ti ilẹ ni, ninu rẹ̀ ni onjẹ ti ijade wá, ati ohun ti o wà nisalẹ li o yi soke bi ẹnipe iná.
5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
6 Okuta ibẹ ni ibi okuta Safiri, o si ni erupẹ wura.
6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
7 Ipa ọ̀na na ni ẹiyẹ kò mọ̀, ati oju gunugun kò ri i ri.
7 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:
8 Awọn ọmọ kiniun kò rin ibẹ rí, bẹ̃ni kiniun ti nké ramuramu kò kọja nibẹ rí.
8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
9 O fi ọwọ rẹ̀ le akọ apata, o yi oke-nla po lati idi rẹ̀ wá.
9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.
10 O si la ipa-odò ṣiṣàn ninu apata, oju rẹ̀ si ri ohun iyebiye gbogbo.
10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
11 O si sé iṣàn odò ki o má ṣe kún akunya, o si mu ohun ti o lumọ hàn jade wá si imọlẹ.
11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.
12 Ṣugbọn nibo li a o gbe wá ọgbọ́n ri, nibo si ni ibi oye?
12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
13 Enia kò mọ̀ iye rẹ̀, bẹ̃li a kò le iri i ni ilẹ awọn alãyè.
13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
14 Ọgbun wipe, kò si ninu mi, omi-okun si wipe, kò si ninu mi.
14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
15 A kò le fi wura rà a, bẹ̃li a kò le ifi òṣuwọn wọ̀n fadaka ni iye rẹ̀.
15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
16 A kò le fi wura Ofiri diyele e, pẹlu okuta oniksi iyebiye, ati okuta Safiri.
16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17 Wura ati okuta kristali kò to ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀, bẹ̃li a kò le fi ohun èlo wura ṣe paṣiparọ rẹ̀.
17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
18 A kò le idarukọ iyun tabi okuta perli; iye ọgbọ́n si jù okuta rubi lọ.
18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19 Okuta topasi ti Etiopia kò tó ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀, bẹ̃li a kò le ifi wura daradara diye le e.
19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
20 Nibo ha li ọgbọn ti jade wá; tabi nibo ni ibi oye?
20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21 A ri pe, o lumọ kuro li oju awọn alãyè gbogbo, o si fara sin fun ẹiyẹ oju ọrun.
21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
22 Ibi iparun (Abaddoni) ati ikú wipe, Awa ti fi etí wa gburo rẹ̀.
22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
23 Ọlọrun li o moye ipa ọ̀na rẹ̀, o si mọ̀ ipo rẹ̀,
23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24 Nitoripe o woye de opin aiye, o si ri gbogbo isalẹ ọrun.
24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
25 Lati dà òṣuwọn fun afẹfẹ, o si fi òṣuwọn wọ̀n omiyomi.
25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
26 Nigbati o paṣẹ fun òjo, ti o si la ọ̀na fun mànamana ãrá:
26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
27 Nigbana li o ri i, o si sọ ọ jade, o pèse rẹ̀ silẹ, ani o si wadi rẹ̀ ri.
27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
28 Ati fun enia li o wipe, kiyesi i; Ẹru Oluwa, eyi li ọgbọ́n, ati lati jade kuro ninu ìwa-buburu eyi li oye!
28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
