Read Job 17

1 EMI mi bajẹ, ọjọ mi parun, isa-okú duro dè mi.

1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

2 Nitõtọ! awọn ẹlẹya wà lọdọ mi, oju mi si tẹmọ́ imunibinu wọn.

2 Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?

3 Njẹ nisisiyi, fi lelẹ! yàn onigbọwọ fun mi lọdọ rẹ; tani oluwa rẹ̀ ti yio ba mi so ọwọ pọ̀?

3 Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?

4 Nitoripe iwọ ti sé wọn laiya kuro ninu oye, nitorina iwọ kì yio gbé wọn leke.

4 For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.

5 Ẹniti o fi awọn ọrẹ hàn fun igára, on ni oju awọn ọmọ rẹ̀ yio mu ofo.

5 He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

6 O si sọ mi di ẹni-owe fun awọn enia, niwaju wọn ni mo dabi ẹni itutọ́ si li oju.

6 He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.

7 Oju mi ṣú baibai pẹlu nitori ibinujẹ, gbogbo ẹ̀ya ara mi si dabi ojiji.

7 Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

8 Awọn olododo yio yanu si eyi, ẹni alaiṣẹ̀ si binu si awọn àgabagebe.

8 Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

9 Olododo pẹlu yio di ọ̀na rẹ̀ mu, ati ọlọwọ mimọ́ yio ma lera siwaju.

9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

10 Ṣugbọn bi o ṣe ti gbogbo nyin, ẹ yipada, ki ẹ si tun bọ̀ nisisiyi, emi kò le ri ọlọgbón kan ninu nyin.

10 But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.

11 Ọjọ ti emi ti kọja, iro mi ti fà já, ani iro inu mi.

11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

12 A sọ oru di ọ̀san; nwọn ni, imọlẹ sunmọ ibiti òkunkun de.

12 They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

13 Bi mo tilẹ ni ireti, ipo-okú ni ile mi, mo ti tẹ bùsun mi sinu òkunkun.

13 If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

14 Emi ti wi fun idibajẹ pe, Iwọ ni baba mi, ati fun kòkoro pe, Iwọ ni iya mi ati arabinrin mi.

14 I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou are my mother, and my sister.

15 Ireti mi ha dà nisisiyi? bi o ṣe ti ireti mi ni, tani yio ri i?

15 And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

16 O sọkalẹ lọ sinu ọgbun ipo-okú, nigbati a jumọ simi pọ̀ ninu erupẹ ilẹ.

16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
