1 NIGBANA ni Jobu dahùn o si wipe,
1 Then Job answered and said,
2 Emi ti gbọ́ iru ohun pipọ bẹ̃ ri; ayọnilẹnu onitunu enia ni gbogbo nyin.
2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.
3 Ọ̀rọ asan lè ni opin? tabi kili o gbó ọ laiya ti iwọ fi dahùn.
3 Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
4 Emi pẹlu le isọ bi ẹnyin, bi ọkàn nyin ba wà ni ipò ọkàn mi, emi le iko ọ̀rọ pọ̀ si nyin li ọrùn, emi a si mì ori mi si nyin.
4 I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
5 Emi iba fi ọ̀rọ ẹnu mi gbà nyin ni iyanju, ati ṣiṣi ète mi iba si tu ibinujẹ nyin.
5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
6 Bi emi tilẹ sọ̀rọ ibinujẹ mi kò rù; bi mo si tilẹ dakẹ, nibo li itunu mi de?
6 Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?
7 Ṣugbọn nisisiyi, o da mi lagara, iwọ (Ọlọrun) mu gbogbo ẹgbẹ mi takete.
7 But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
8 Iwọ si fi ikiweje kún mi lara, ti o jẹri tì mi; ati rirù ti o yọ lara mi, o jẹri tì mi li oju.
8 And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
9 Ibinu rẹ̀ li o fà mi ya, o si ṣọta mi; o pa ehin rẹ̀ keke si mi, ọta mi si gboju rẹ̀ si mi.
9 He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
10 Nwọn ti fi ẹnu wọn yán si mi, nwọn gbá mi li ẹrẹkẹ ni igbá ẹ̀gan, nwọn kó ara wọn jọ pọ̀ si mi.
10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
11 Ọlọrun ti fi mi le ọwọ ẹni-buburu, o si mu mi ṣubu si ọwọ enia ẹlẹṣẹ.
11 God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
12 Mo ti joko jẹ, ṣugbọn o fa mi já o si dì mi li ọrùn mu, o si gbọ̀n mi tutu, o si gbe mi kalẹ ṣe àmi itasi rẹ̀.
12 I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
13 Awọn tafatafa rẹ̀ duro yi mi kakiri; o là mi laiya pẹ̀rẹ kò si dasi, o si tú orõrò ara mi dà silẹ.
13 His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
14 Ibajẹ lori ibajẹ li o fi ba mi jẹ; o sure kọlù mi bi òmirán.
14 He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
15 Mo rán aṣọ-apo bò ara mi, mo si rẹ̀ iwo mi silẹ ninu erupẹ.
15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
16 Oju mi ti pọ́n fun ẹkún, ojiji ikú si ṣẹ si ipenpeju mi.
16 My face is foul with weeping, and my eyelids is the shadow of death;
17 Kì iṣe nitori aiṣotitọ kan li ọwọ mi, adura mi si mọ́ pẹlu.
17 Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
18 A! ilẹ aiye, iwọ máṣe bò ẹ̀jẹ mi, ki ẹkún mi máṣe ni ipò kan.
18 O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.
19 Njẹ nisisiyi kiyesi i! ẹlẹri mi mbẹ li ọrun, ẹri mi si mbẹ loke ọrun.
19 Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.
20 Awọn ọre mi nfi mi ṣẹ̀sin, ṣugbọn oju mi ndà omije sọdọ Ọlọrun.
20 My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.
21 Ibaṣepe ẹnikan le ma ṣe alagbawi fun ẹnikeji lọdọ Ọlọrun, bi enia kan ti iṣe alagbawi fun ẹnikeji rẹ̀.
21 O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!
22 Nitori nigbati iye ọdun diẹ rekọja tan, nigbana ni emi o lọ si ibi ti emi kì yio pada bọ̀.
22 When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
