Read Job 14

1 ENIA ti a bi ninu obinrin ọlọjọ diẹ ni, o si kún fun ipọnju.

1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

2 O jade wá bi itana eweko, a si ke e lulẹ, o si nfò lọ bi ojiji, kò si duro pẹ́.

2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

3 Iwọ si nṣiju rẹ wò iru eyinì, iwọ si mu mi wá sinu idajọ pẹlu rẹ.

3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?

4 Tali o le mu ohun mimọ́ lati inu aimọ́ jade wá? kò si ẹnikan!

4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

5 Njẹ ati pinnu ọjọ rẹ̀, iye oṣu rẹ̀ mbẹ li ọwọ rẹ, iwọ ti pàla rẹ̀, bẹ̃li on kò le ikọja rẹ̀.

5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

6 Yipada kuro lọdọ rẹ̀, ki o le simi titi yio fi pé ọjọ rẹ̀ bi alagbaṣe.

6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.

7 Nitoripe abá wà fun igi, bi a ba ke e lulẹ, pe yio si tun sọ, ati pe ẹka rẹ̀ titun, kì yio dá.

7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

8 Bi gbongbo rẹ̀ tilẹ di ogbó ninu ilẹ, ti kukute rẹ̀ si kú ni ilẹ.

8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

9 Sibẹ nigbati o ba gbõrùn omi, yio sọ, yio si yọ ẹka jade bi eweko.

9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

10 Ṣugbọn enia kú, a si ṣàn danu; ani enia jọwọ ẹmi rẹ̀ lọwọ, on ha da?

10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

11 Bi omi ti itán ninu ipa odò, ti odò si ifà ti si igbẹ.

11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:

12 Bẹ̃li enia dubulẹ ti kò si dide mọ́, titi ọrun kì yio fi si mọ́, nwọn kì yio ji, a kì yio ji wọn kuro loju orun wọn.

12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

13 A! iwọ iba fi mi pamọ ni ipo-okú, ki iwọ ki o fi mi pamọ ni ìkọkọ, titi ibinu rẹ yio fi rekọja, iwọ iba lana igba kan silẹ fun mi, ki o si ranti mi.

13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

14 Bi enia ba kú yio si tun yè bi? gbogbo ọjọ igba ti a là silẹ fun mi li emi o duro dè, titi amudọtun mi yio fi de.

14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

15 Iwọ iba pè, emi iba si da ọ lohùn, iwọ o si ni ifẹ si iṣẹ ọwọ rẹ.

15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

16 Ṣugbọn nisisiyi iwọ nkaye iṣisẹ mi, iwọ kò fà ọwọ rẹ kuro nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ mi.

16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?

17 A fi edidi di irekọja mi sinu àpo, iwọ si rán aiṣedede mi pọ̀.

17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.

18 Ati nitotọ oke nla ti o ṣubu, o dasan, a si ṣi apata kuro ni ipo rẹ̀.

18 And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.

19 Omi a ma yinrin okuta, iwọ a si mu omi ṣàn bo ohun ti o hù jade lori ilẹ, iwọ si sọ ireti enia di ofo.

19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.

20 Iwọ si ṣẹgun rẹ̀ lailai, on si kọja lọ iwọ pa awọ oju rẹ̀ dà, o si ran a lọ kuro.

20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.

21 Awọn ọmọ rẹ̀ bọ́ si ipo ọlá, on kò si mọ̀, nwọn si rẹ̀ silẹ, on kò si kiyesi i lara wọn.

21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.

22 Ṣugbọn ẹran-ara rẹ̀ ni yio ri irora, ọkàn rẹ̀ ni yio si ma ni ibinujẹ ninu rẹ̀.

22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
