Read James 4
1 NIBO ni ogun ti wá, nibo ni ija si ti wá larin nyin? lati inu eyi ha kọ? lati inu ifẹkufẹ ara nyin, ti njagun ninu awọn ẹ̀ya-ara nyin?
1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ẹnyin bère, ẹ kò si ri gbà, nitoriti ẹnyin ṣì i bère, ki ẹnyin ki o le lò o fun ifẹkufẹ ara nyin.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ẹnyin panṣaga ọkunrin, ati panṣaga obinrin, ẹ kò mọ̀ pe ìbarẹ́ aiye ìṣọtá Ọlọrun ni? nitorina ẹnikẹni ti o ba fẹ lati jẹ́ ọrẹ aiye di ọtá Ọlọrun.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Ẹnyin ṣebi iwe-mimọ́ sọ lasan pe, Ẹmí ti o fi sinu wa njowu gidigidi lori wa?
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 Ṣugbọn o nfunni li ore-ọfẹ si i. Nitorina li o ṣe wipe, Ọlọrun kọ oju ija si awọn agberaga, ṣugbọn o fi ore-ọfẹ fun awọn onirẹlẹ ọkàn.
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Nitorina ẹ tẹriba fun Ọlọrun. Ẹ kọ oju ija si Èṣu, on ó si sá kuro lọdọ nyin.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Ẹ sunmọ Ọlọrun, on o si sunmọ nyin, Ẹ wẹ̀ ọwọ́ nyin mọ́, ẹnyin ẹlẹṣẹ; ẹ si ṣe ọkàn nyin ni mimọ́, ẹnyin oniye meji.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Ki inu nyin ki o bajẹ, ki ẹ si gbàwẹ, ki ẹ si mã sọkun: ẹ jẹ ki ẹrín nyin ki o di àwẹ, ati ayọ̀ nyin ki o di ikãnu.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Ẹ rẹ̀ ara nyin silẹ niwaju Oluwa, on o si gbé nyin ga.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
11 Ará, ẹ máṣe sọ̀rọ ibi si ara nyin. Ẹniti o ba nsọ̀rọ ibi si arakunrin rẹ̀, ti o si ndá arakunrin rẹ̀ lẹjọ, o nsọ̀rọ ibi si ofin, o si ndá ofin lẹjọ; ṣugbọn bi iwọ ba ndá ofin lẹjọ, iwọ kì iṣe oluṣe ofin, bikoṣe onidajọ.
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 Olofin ati onidajọ kanṣoṣo ni mbẹ, ani ẹniti ó le gbala ti o si le parun; ṣugbọn tani iwọ ti ndá ẹnikeji rẹ lẹjọ?
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
13 Ẹ wá nisisiyi, ẹnyin tí nwipe, Loni tabi lọla awa ó lọ si ilu bayi, a o si ṣe ọdún kan nibẹ, a o si ṣòwo, a o si jère:
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Nigbati ẹnyin kò mọ̀ ohun ti yio hù lọla. Kili ẹmí nyin? Ikũku sá ni nyin, ti o hàn nigba diẹ, lẹhinna a si túka lọ.
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 Eyi ti ẹ bá fi wipe, bi Oluwa ba fẹ, awa o wà lãye, a o si ṣe eyi tabi eyini.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 Ṣugbọn nisisiyi ẹnyin nṣeféfe ninu ifọnnu nyin: gbogbo irú iṣeféfe bẹ̃, ibi ni.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Nitorina ẹniti o ba mọ̀ rere iṣe ti kò si ṣe, ẹ̀ṣẹ ni fun u.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
