¹ ÁJARA ofo ni Israeli, o nso eso fun ara rẹ̀; gẹgẹ bi ọ̀pọ eso rẹ̀ li o mu pẹpẹ pọ̀ si i; gẹgẹ bi didara ilẹ rẹ̀ ni nwọn yá ere daradara.

¹ Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.

² Ọkàn wọn dá meji; nisisiyi ni nwọn o jẹbi; on o wó pẹpẹ wọn lulẹ, on o si ba ere wọn jẹ.

² Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.

³ Nitori nisisiyi ni nwọn o wipe, Awa kò li ọba, nitoriti awa kò bẹ̀ru Oluwa; njẹ kili ọba o ṣe fun wa?

³ For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?

⁴ Nwọn ti sọ ọ̀rọ, nwọn mbura eke ni didà majẹmu: bayi ni idajọ hù soke bi igi iwọ, ni aporo oko.

⁴ They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

⁵ Nitori awọn ọmọ-malu Bet-afeni, awọn ti ngbe Samaria yio bẹ̀ru: nitori awọn enia ibẹ̀ yio ṣọ̀fọ lori rẹ̀, ati awọn baba-oloriṣà ibẹ̀ ti o yọ̀ lori rẹ̀, nitori ogo rẹ̀, nitori o ti lọ kuro lọdọ rẹ̀.

⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Beth-aven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.

⁶ A o si mu u lọ si Assiria pẹlu ẹbùn fun Jarebu ọba: Efraimu yio gbà itiju, oju yio si tì Israeli nitori igbìmọ rẹ̀.

⁶ It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

⁷ Bi o ṣe ti Samaria, a ké ọba rẹ̀ kuro bi ifõfõ loju omi.

⁷ As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.

⁸ Ibi giga Afeni pẹlu, ẹ̀ṣẹ Israeli, li a o parun; ẹgún ọ̀gan on oṣuṣu yio hù jade lori pẹpẹ wọn; nwọn o si wi fun awọn oke-nla pe, Bò wa mọlẹ; ati fun awọn oke kékèké pe, Wó lù wa.

⁸ The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.

⁹ Lati ọjọ Gibea ni iwọ ti ṣẹ̀, Israeli: nibẹ̀ ni nwọn duro: ogun Gibea si awọn ọmọ ẹ̀ṣẹ kò ha le wọn ba?

⁹ O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.

¹⁰ Ifẹ inu mi ni ki nle nà wọn; a o si gbá awọn enia jọ si wọn, lati di ara wọn si ẹ̀ṣẹ wọn mejeji.

¹⁰ It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.

¹¹ Efraimu si dabi ọmọ-malu ti a kọ́, ti o si fẹ́ lati ma tẹ ọkà; ṣugbọn emi rekọja li ori ọrùn rẹ̀ ti o ni ẹwà: emi o mu ki Efraimu gùn ẹṣin; Juda yio tú ilẹ, Jakobu yio si fọ́ ogulùtu rẹ̀.

¹¹ And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.

¹² Ẹ furùngbin fun ara nyin li ododo, ẹ ká li ãnu: ẹ tú ilẹ nyin ti a kò ro: nitori o to akokò lati wá Oluwa, titi yio fi de, ti yio si fi rọ̀jo ododo si nyin.

¹² Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

¹³ Ẹnyin ti tulẹ ìwa-buburu, ẹnyin ti ká aiṣedẽde; ẹnyin ti jẹ eso eke: nitori iwọ gbẹkẹ̀le ọ̀na rẹ, ninu ọ̀pọlọpọ awọn alagbara rẹ.

¹³ Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

¹⁴ Nitorina li ariwo yio dide ninu awọn enia rẹ, gbogbo awọn odi agbara rẹ li a o si bajẹ, bi Ṣalmani ti ba Bet-abeli jẹ li ọjọ ogun: a fọ́ iya tũtũ lori awọn ọmọ rẹ̀.

¹⁴ Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.

¹⁵ Bẹ̃ni Beteli yio ṣe si nyin, nitori ìwa-buburu nla nyin; ni kùtukùtu li a o ke ọba Israeli kuro patapata.

¹⁵ So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.
