1 NIGBATI Israeli wà li ọmọde, nigbana ni mo fẹ́ ẹ, mo si pè ọmọ mi lati Egipti jade wá.

1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

2 Bi nwọn ti pè wọn, bẹ̃ni nwọn lọ kuro lọdọ wọn: nwọn rubọ si Baalimu, nwọn si fi turari joná si ere fifin.

2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

3 Mo kọ́ Efraimu pẹlu lati rìn, mo dì wọn mu li apa, ṣugbọn nwọn kò mọ̀ pe mo ti mu wọn lara dá.

3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.

4 Mo fi okùn enia fà wọn, ati idè ifẹ: mo si ri si wọn bi awọn ti o mu ajàga kuro li ẹrẹkẹ wọn, mo si gbe onjẹ kalẹ niwaju wọn.

4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

5 On kì yio yipadà si ilẹ Egipti, ṣugbọn ara Assiria ni yio jẹ ọba rẹ̀, nitori nwọn kọ̀ lati yipadà.

5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

6 Idà yio si ma gbe inu ilu rẹ̀, yio si run ìtikun rẹ̀, yio si jẹ wọn run, nitori ìmọran ara wọn.

6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.

7 Awọn enia mi si tẹ̀ si ifàsẹhin kuro lọdọ mi: bi o tilẹ̀ ṣepe nwọn pè wọn si Ọga-ogo jùlọ, nwọn kò jùmọ gbe e ga.

7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.

8 Emi o ha ṣe jọwọ rẹ lọwọ, Efraimu? emi o ha ṣe gbà ọ silẹ, Israeli? emi o ha ti ṣe ṣe ọ bi Adma? emi o ha ti ṣe gbe ọ kalẹ bi Seboimu, ọkàn mi yi ninu mi, iyọnu mi gbiná pọ̀.

8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

9 Emi kì yio mu gbigboná ibinu mi ṣẹ, emi kì yio yipadà lati run Efraimu: nitori Ọlọrun li emi, kì iṣe enia; Ẹni-Mimọ lãrin rẹ: emi kì yio si wá ninu ibinu.

9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.

10 Nwọn o ma tẹ̀le Oluwa: on o ke ramùramù bi kiniun: nigbati on o ke, nigbana li awọn ọmọ yio wariri lati iwọ-õrun wá.

10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.

11 Nwọn o warìri bi ẹiyẹ lati Egipti wá, ati bi adàba lati ilẹ Assiria wá: emi o si fi wọn si ile wọn, li Oluwa wi

11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.

12 Efraimu fi eke sagbàra yi mi ka, ile Israeli si fi ẹtàn sagbàra yi mi ka: ṣugbọn Juda njọba sibẹ̀ pẹlu Ọlọrun, o si ṣe olõtọ pẹlu Ẹni-mimọ́.

12 Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
