1 NITORI Melkisedeki yi, ọba Salemu, alufa Ọlọrun Ọgá-ogo, ẹniti o pade Abrahamu bi o ti npada lati ibi pipa awọn ọba bọ̀, ti o si sure fun u;
1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 Ẹniti Abrahamu si pin idamẹwa ohun gbogbo fun; li ọna ekini ni itumọ rẹ̀ ọba ododo, ati lẹhinna pẹlu ọba Salemu, ti iṣe ọba alafia;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3 Laini baba, laini iyá, laini ìtan iran, bẹ̃ni kò ni ibẹrẹ ọjọ tabi opin ọjọ aiye; ṣugbọn a ṣe e bi Ọmọ Ọlọrun; o wà li alufa titi.
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
4 Njẹ ẹ gbà a rò bi ọkunrin yi ti pọ̀ to, ẹniti Abrahamu baba nla fi idamẹwa ninu awọn aṣayan ikogun fun.
4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
5 Ati nitõtọ awọn ti iṣe ọmọ Lefi, ti o gbà oyè alufa, nwọn ni aṣẹ lati mã gbà idamẹwa lọwọ awọn enia gẹgẹ bi ofin, eyini ni, lọwọ awọn arakunrin wọn, bi o tilẹ ti jẹ pe, nwọn ti inu Abrahamu jade.
5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:
6 Ṣugbọn on ẹniti a kò tilẹ pitan iran rẹ̀ lati ọdọ wọn wá, ti gbà idamẹwa lọwọ Abrahamu, o si ti sure fun ẹniti o gbà ileri.
6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
7 Ati li aisijiyan rara ẹniti kò to ẹni li ã sure fun lati ọdọ ẹniti o jù ni.
7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.
8 Ati nihin, awọn ẹni kikú gbà idamẹwa; ṣugbọn nibẹ̀, ẹniti a jẹri rẹ̀ pe o mbẹ lãye.
8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
9 Ati bi a ti le wi, Lefi papa ti ngbà idamẹwa, ti san idamẹwa nipasẹ Abrahamu.
9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
10 Nitori o sá si mbẹ ni inu baba rẹ̀, nigbati Melkisedeki pade rẹ̀.
10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
11 Njẹ ibaṣepe pipé mbẹ nipa oyè alufa Lefi, (nitoripe labẹ rẹ̀ li awọn enia gbà ofin), kili o si tún kù mọ́ ti alufa miran iba fi dide nipa ẹsẹ Melkisedeki, ti a kò si wipe nipa ẹsẹ Aaroni?
11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12 Nitoripe bi a ti pàrọ oyè alufa, a kò si le ṣai pàrọ ofin.
12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
13 Nitori ẹniti a nsọ̀rọ nkan wọnyi nipa rẹ̀ jẹ ẹ̀ya miran, lati inu eyiti ẹnikẹni koi jọsin ri nibi pẹpẹ.
13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14 Nitori o han gbangba pe lati inu ẹ̀ya Juda ni Oluwa wa ti dide; nipa ẹ̀ya ti Mose kò sọ ohunkohun niti awọn alufa.
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
15 O si tún han gbangba jù bẹ̃ lọ bi o ti jẹ pe alufa miran dide gẹgẹ bi Melkisedeki,
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Eyiti a kò fi jẹ gẹgẹ bi ofin ilana nipa ti ara, bikoṣe nipa agbara ti ìye ailopin.
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 Nitori a jẹri pe, Iwọ ni alufa titi lai nipa ẹsẹ Melkisedeki.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
18 Nitori a mu ofin iṣaju kuro, nitori ailera ati ailere rẹ̀.
18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 (Nitori ofin kò mu ohunkohun pé), a si mu ireti ti o dara jù wá nipa eyiti awa nsunmọ Ọlọrun.
19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
20 Niwọn bi o si ti ṣe pe kì iṣe li aibura ni.
20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
21 (Nitori a ti fi wọn jẹ alufa laisi ibura, nipa ẹniti o wi fun u pe, Oluwa bura, kì yio si ronupiwada, Iwọ ni alufa kan titi lai nipa ẹsẹ Melkisedeki:)
21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
22 Niwọn bẹ̃ ni Jesu ti di onigbọ̀wọ́ majẹmu ti o dara jù.
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
23 Ati nitõtọ awọn pupọ̀ li a ti fi jẹ alufa, nitori nwọn kò le wà titi nitori ikú:
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 Ṣugbọn on, nitoriti o wà titi lai, o ni oyè alufa ti a kò le rọ̀ nipò.
24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
26 Nitoripe irú Olori Alufa bẹ̃ li o yẹ wa, mimọ́, ailẹgan, ailẽri, ti a yà si ọ̀tọ kuro ninu ẹlẹṣẹ, ti a si gbéga jù awọn ọrun lọ;
26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Ẹniti kò ni lati mã kọ́ rubọ lojojumọ, bi awọn olori alufa wọnni, fun ẹ̀ṣẹ ti ara rẹ̀ na, ati lẹhinna fun ti awọn enia: nitori eyi li o ti ṣe lẹ̃kanṣoṣo, nigbati o fi ara rẹ̀ rubọ.
27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
28 Nitoripe ofin a mã fi awọn enia ti o ni ailera jẹ olori alufa; ṣugbọn ọ̀rọ ti ibura, ti a ṣe lẹhin ofin, o fi Ọmọ jẹ, ẹniti a sọ di pipé titi lai.
28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
