1 NITORINA ki a fi ipilẹṣẹ ẹkọ́ Kristi silẹ, ki a lọ si pipé; li aitún fi ipilẹ ironupiwada kuro ninu okú iṣẹ lelẹ, ati ti igbagbọ́ sipa ti Ọlọrun,

1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Ati ti ẹkọ́ ti iwẹnu, ati ti igbọwọle-ni, ati ti ajinde okú, ati ti idajọ ainipẹkun.

2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3 Eyi li awa ó si ṣe, bi Ọlọrun fẹ.

3 And this will we do, if God permit.

4 Nitori awọn ti a ti là loju lẹ̃kan, ti nwọn si ti tọ́ ẹ̀bùn ọ̀run wò, ti nwọn si ti di alabapin Ẹmí Mimọ́,

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 Ti nwọn si ti tọ́ ọ̀rọ rere Ọlọrun wò, ati agbara aiye ti mbọ̀,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

7 Nitori ilẹ ti o fi omi ojò ti nrọ̀ sori rẹ̀ nigbagbogbo mu, ti o si nhù ewebẹ ti o dara fun awọn ti a nti itori wọn ro o pẹlu, ngbà ibukún lọwọ Ọlọrun.

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

8 Ṣugbọn eyiti o nhù ẹgún ati oṣuṣu, a kọ̀ ọ, kò si jìna si egún; opin eyiti yio jẹ fun ijona.

8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

9 Ṣugbọn, olufẹ, awa ni igbagbọ ohun ti o dara jù bẹ̃ lọ niti nyin, ati ohun ti o faramọ igbala, bi awa tilẹ nsọ bayi.

9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

10 Nitori Ọlọrun kì iṣe alaiṣododo ti yio fi gbagbé iṣẹ nyin ati ifẹ ti ẹnyin fihàn si orukọ rẹ̀, nipa iṣẹ iranṣẹ ti ẹ ti ṣe fun awọn enia mimọ́, ti ẹ si nṣe.

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11 Awa si fẹ ki olukuluku nyin ki o mã fi irú aisimi kanna hàn, fun ẹ̀kún ireti titi de opin:

11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 Ki ẹ máṣe di onilọra, ṣugbọn alafarawe awọn ti nwọn ti ipa igbagbọ́ ati sũru jogún awọn ileri.

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 Nitori nigbati Ọlọrun ṣe ileri fun Abrahamu, bi kò ti ri ẹniti o pọju on lati fi bura, o fi ara rẹ̀ bura, wipe,

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14 Nitõtọ ni bibukún emi o bukún fun ọ, ati ni bibisi emi o mu ọ bisi i.

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 Bẹna si ni, lẹhin igbati o fi sũru duro, o ri ileri na gbà.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16 Nitori enia a mã fi ẹniti o pọjù wọn bura: ibura na a si fi opin si gbogbo ijiyan wọn fun ifẹsẹ mulẹ ọ̀rọ.

16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17 Ninu eyiti bi Ọlọrun ti nfẹ gidigidi lati fi aileyipada ìmọ rẹ̀ han fun awọn ajogún ileri, o fi ibura sãrin wọn.

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 Pe, nipa ohun aileyipada meji, ninu eyiti ko le ṣe iṣe fun Ọlọrun lati ṣeke, ki awa ti o ti sá sabẹ ãbo le ni ìṣírí ti o daju lati dì ireti ti a gbé kalẹ niwaju wa mu:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Eyiti awa ni bi idakọ̀ro ọkàn, ireti ti o daju ti o si duro ṣinṣin, ti o si wọ̀ inu ile lọ lẹhin aṣọ ikele;

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20 Nibiti aṣaju wa ti wọ̀ lọ fun wa, ani Jesu, ti a fi jẹ Olori Alufa titi lai nipa ẹsẹ Melkisedeki.

20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
