1 NITORINA o yẹ ti awa iba mã fi iyè gidigidi si ohun wọnni ti awa ti gbọ́, ki a má bã gbá wa lọ kuro ninu wọn nigbakan.
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 Nitori bi ọ̀rọ ti a ti ẹnu awọn angẹli sọ ba duro ṣinṣin, ati ti olukuluku irekọja ati aigbọran si gbà ẹsan ti o tọ́;
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 Awa o ti ṣe là a, bi awa kò ba nani irú igbala nla bi eyi; ti àtetekọ bẹ̀rẹ si isọ lati ọdọ Oluwa, ti a si fi mulẹ fun wa lati ọdọ awọn ẹniti o gbọ́;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 Ọlọrun si nfi iṣẹ àmi ati iṣẹ iyanu, ati onirũru iṣẹ agbara, ati ẹ̀bun Ẹmí Mimọ́ bá wọn jẹri gẹgẹ bí ifẹ rẹ̀?
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
5 Nitoripe ki iṣe abẹ awọn angẹli li o fi aiye ti mbọ̀ ti awa nsọrọ rẹ̀ si.
5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
6 Ṣugbọn ẹnikan sọ nibikan wipe, Kili enia ti o fi nṣe iranti rẹ̀, tabi ọmọ enia, ti o mbẹ̀ ẹ wò?
6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
7 Iwọ dá a rẹlẹ̀ diẹ jù awọn angẹli lọ; iwọ fi ogo ati ọlá dé e li ade, iwọ si fi i jẹ olori iṣẹ ọwọ́ rẹ:
7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
8 Iwọ fi ohun gbogbo sabẹ ẹsẹ rẹ̀. Nitori niti pe o fi ohun gbogbo sabẹ rẹ̀ kò kù ohun kan ti kò fi sabẹ rẹ̀. Ṣugbọn nisisiyi awa kò iti ri pe a fi ohun gbogbo sabẹ rẹ̀.
8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9 Awa ri ẹniti a dá rẹlẹ̀ diẹ jù awọn angẹli lọ, ani Jesu, ẹniti a fi ogo ati ọlá dé li ade nitori ijiya ikú; ki o le tọ́ iku wò fun olukuluku enia nipa õre-ọfẹ Ọlọrun.
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 Nitoripe o yẹ fun u, nitori ẹniti ohun gbogbo ṣe wà, ati nipasẹ ẹniti ohun gbogbo wà, ni mimu awọn ọmọ pupọ̀ wá sinu ogo, lati ṣe balogun igbala wọn li aṣepé nipa ìjiya.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 Nitori ati ẹniti nsọni di mimọ́ ati awọn ti a nsọ di mimọ́, lati ọdọ ẹnikanṣoṣo ni gbogbo wọn: nitori eyiti ko ṣe tiju lati pè wọn ni arakunrin,
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Wipe, Emi ó sọ̀rọ orukọ rẹ fun awọn ará mi, li ãrin ijọ li emi o kọrin iyìn rẹ.
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 Ati pẹlu, Emi o gbẹkẹ̀ mi le e. Ati pẹlu, Kiyesi i, emi ati awọn ọmọ ti Ọlọrun fifun mi.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14 Njẹ niwọn bi awọn ọmọ ti ṣe alabapin ara on ẹ̀jẹ, bẹ̃ gẹgẹ li on pẹlu si ṣe alabapin ninu ọkanna; ki o le ti ipa ikú pa ẹniti o ni agbara ikú run, eyini ni Eṣu;
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 Ki o si le gbà gbogbo awọn ti o ti itori ibẹru iku wà labẹ ìde lọjọ aiye wọn gbogbo.
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 Nitoripe, nitõtọ ki iṣe awọn angẹli li o ṣe iranlọwọ fun, ṣugbọn irú-ọmọ Abrahamu li o ṣe iranlọwọ fun.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Nitorina o yẹ pe ninu ohun gbogbo ki o dabi awọn ará rẹ̀, ki o le jẹ alãnu ati olõtọ Olori Alufa ninu ohun ti iṣe ti Ọlọrun, ki o le ṣe etutu fun ẹ̀ṣẹ awọn enia.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 Nitori niwọnbi on tikararẹ̀ ti jiya nipa idanwo, o le ràn awọn ti a ndan wo lọwọ.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
