Read Genesis 11
1 GBOGBO aiye si jẹ ède kan, ati ọ̀rọ kan.
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
2 O si ṣe, bi nwọn ti nrìn lati ìha ìla-õrùn lọ, ti nwọn ri pẹtẹlẹ kan ni ilẹ Ṣinari; nwọn si tẹdo sibẹ̀.
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 Nwọn si wi, ikini si ekeji pe, Ẹ wá na, ẹ jẹ ki a mọ briki, ki a si sun wọn jina. Briki ni nwọn ni li okuta, ọ̀da-ilẹ ni nwọn si nfi ṣe ọ̀rọ.
3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
4 Nwọn si wipe, Ẹ wá na, ẹ jẹ ki a tẹ̀ ilu kan dó, ki a si mọ ile-iṣọ kan, ori eyiti yio si kàn ọrun; ki a si li orukọ, ki a má ba tuka kiri sori ilẹ gbogbo.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 OLUWA si sọkalẹ wá iwò ilu ati ile-iṣọ́ na, ti awọn ọmọ enia nkọ́.
5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 OLUWA si wipe, Kiye si i, ọkan li awọn enia, ède kan ni gbogbo wọn ni; eyi ni nwọn bẹ̀rẹ si iṣe: njẹ nisisiyi kò sí ohun ti a o le igbà lọwọ wọn ti nwọn ti rò lati ṣe.
6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Ẹ wá na, ẹ jẹ ki a sọkalẹ lọ, ki a dà wọn li ède rú nibẹ̀, ki nwọn ki o máṣe gbedè ara wọn mọ́.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 Bẹ̃li OLUWA tú wọn ká lati ibẹ̀ lọ si ori ilẹ gbogbo: nwọn si ṣíwọ ilu ti nwọn ntẹdó.
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Nitorina li a ṣe npè orukọ ilu na ni Babeli; nitori ibẹ̀ li OLUWA gbe dà ède araiye rú, lati ibẹ̀ lọ OLUWA si tú wọn ká kiri si ori ilẹ gbogbo.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

17 And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

23 And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
24 Nahori si jẹ ẹni ọdún mọkanlelọgbọ̀n o si bí Tera:
24 And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:
25 Nahori si wà li ọgọfa ọdún o dí ọkan, lẹhin igbati o bí Tera tan, o si bí ọmọkunrin ati ọmọbinrin.
25 And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.
26 Tera si wà li ãdọrin ọdún, o si bí Abramu, Nahori, ati Harani.
26 And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27 Iran Tera si li eyi: Tera bi Abramu, Nahori, ati Harani; Harani si bí Loti.
27 Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.
28 Harani si kú ṣaju Tera baba rẹ̀, ni ilẹ ibi rẹ̀, ni Uri ti Kaldea.
28 And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.
29 Ati Abramu ati Nahor si fẹ aya fun ara wọn: orukọ aya Abramu ni Sarai; ati orukọ aya Nahori ni Milka, ọmọbinrin Harani, baba Milka, ati baba Iska.
29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
30 Ṣugbọn Sarai yàgan; kò li ọmọ.
30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31 Tera si mu Abramu ọmọ rẹ̀, ati Loti, ọmọ Harani, ọmọ ọmọ rẹ̀, ati Sarai aya ọmọ rẹ̀, aya Abramu ọmọ rẹ̀; nwọn si ba wọn jade kuro ni Uri ti Kaldea, lati lọ si ilẹ Kenaani; nwọn si wá titi de Harani, nwọn si joko sibẹ̀.
31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
32 Ọjọ́ Tera si jẹ igba ọdún o le marun: Tera si kú ni Harani.
32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
