1 Ọ̀RỌ Oluwa si tọ̀ mi wá, wipe,

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Ọmọ enia, pa alọ́ kan, si pa owe kan fun ile Israeli;

2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;

3 Si wipe, Bayi ni Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; Idì nla kan, pẹlu apá nla, alapá gigùn, o kún fun iyẹ́; ti o ni àwọ alaràbarà wá si Lebanoni, o si mu ẹka igi Kedari ti o ga julọ.

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:

4 O ke ori ọ̀munú ẹka rẹ̀ kuro, o si mu u lọ si ilẹ òwo kan; o gbe e kalẹ ni ilu awọn oniṣòwo.

4 He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.

5 O mu ninu irugbìn ilẹ na pẹlu, o si gbìn i sinu oko daradara kan; o fi si ibi omi nla, o si gbe e kalẹ bi igi willo.

5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.

6 O si dagba, o si di igi àjara ti o bò ti o kuru, ẹka ẹniti o tẹ̀ sọdọ rẹ̀, gbòngbo rẹ̀ si wà labẹ rẹ̀; bẹ̃ni o di ajara, o si pa ẹka, o si yọ ọ̀munú jade.

6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

7 Idì nla miran si wà pẹlu apá nla ati iyẹ́ pupọ: si kiye si i, àjara yi tẹ̀ gbòngbo rẹ̀ sọdọ rẹ̀, o si yọ ẹka rẹ̀ sọdọ rẹ̀, ki o le ma b'omi si i ninu aporo ọgbà rẹ̀.

7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.

8 Ilẹ rere lẹba omi nla ni a gbìn i si, ki o le bà yọ ẹka jade, ki o si le so eso, ki o le jẹ́ àjara rere.

8 It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.

9 Wipe, Bayi ni Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; yio ha gbà? on kì yio hú gbòngbo rẹ̀, kì yio si ka eso rẹ̀ kuro, ki o le rọ? yio rọ ninu gbogbo ewe rirú rẹ̀, ani laisi agbara nla tabi enia pupọ̀ lati fà a tu pẹlu gbòngbo rẹ̀.

9 Say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.

10 Nitõtọ, kiye si i, bi a ti gbìn i yi, yio ha gbà? kì yio ha rẹ̀ patapata? nigbati afẹfẹ ilà-õrun ba kàn a? yio rẹ̀ ninu aporo ti o ti hù.

10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.

11 Ọ̀rọ Oluwa si tọ̀ mi wá, wipe,

11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

12 Sọ nisisiyi fun ọlọ̀tẹ ile na pe, Ẹnyin kò mọ̀ ohun ti nkan wọnyi jasi? Sọ fun wọn, kiyesi i, ọba Babiloni de Jerusalemu, o si ti mu ọba ibẹ ati awọn ọmọ-alade ibẹ, o si mu wọn pẹlu rẹ̀ lọ si Babiloni:

12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;

13 O si ti mu ninu iru-ọmọ ọba, o si bá a dá majẹmu, o si ti mu u bura: o si mu awọn alagbara ilẹ na pẹlu:

13 And hath taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:

14 Ki ijọba na le jẹ alailọla, ki o má le gbe ara rẹ̀ soke, ki o le duro nipa pipa majẹmu rẹ̀ mọ.

14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.

15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?

16 Oluwa Ọlọrun wipe, Bi mo ti wà, nitotọ ibi ti ọba ngbe ti o fi i jọba, ibura ẹniti o gàn, majẹmu ẹniti o si bajẹ, ani lọdọ rẹ̀ lãrin Babiloni ni yio kú.

16 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.

17 Bẹ̃ni Farao ti on ti ogun rẹ̀ ti o li agbara ati ẹgbẹ́ nla kì yio ṣe fun u ninu ogun, nipa mimọ odi, ati kikọle iṣọ́ ti o li agbara, lati ke enia pupọ̀ kuro:

17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:

18 Nitoriti o gàn ibura nipa didalẹ, kiye si i, o ti fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ fun ni, o si ti ṣe gbogbo nkan wọnyi, kì yio bọ́.

18 Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.

19 Nitorina bayi ni Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; Bi mo ti wà, dajudaju ibura mi ti o ti gàn, ati majẹmu mi ti o ti dà, ani on li emi o san si ori on tikalarẹ̀.

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.

20 Emi o si nà àwọn mi si i lori, a o si mu u ninu ẹgẹ́ mi; emi o si mu u de Babiloni, emi o si ba a rojọ nibẹ, nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ ti o ti da si mi.

20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.

21 Ati gbogbo awọn isánsa rẹ̀ pẹlu gbogbo awọn ẹgbẹ́-ogun rẹ̀, ni yio ti oju idà ṣubu; awọn ti o si kù ni a o tuka si gbogbo ẹfũfu: ẹnyin o si mọ̀ pe emi Oluwa li o ti sọ ọ.

21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.

22 Bayi ni Oluwa Ọlọrun wi; emi o mu ninu ẹka ti o ga jùlọ, ninu igi Kedari giga; emi o si lọ́ ọ, emi o ke ọ̀munú ẹka kan kuro ninu ọ̀munú ẹka rẹ̀; emi o si gbìn i sori oke giga kan ti o si hàn:

22 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:

23 Lori oke giga ti Israeli ni emi o gbìn i si, yio si yọ ẹka; yio si so eso, yio si jẹ igi Kedari daradara; labẹ rẹ̀ ni gbogbo ẹiyẹ oniruru iyẹ́ o si gbe; ninu ojiji ẹka rẹ̀ ni nwọn o gbe.

23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.

24 Gbogbo igi inu igbẹ ni yio si mọ̀ pe, emi Oluwa li o ti mu igi giga walẹ, ti mo ti gbe igi rirẹlẹ soke, ti mo ti mu igi tutù gbẹ, ti mo si ti mu igi gbigbẹ ruwé: emi Oluwa li o ti sọ ti mo si ti ṣe e.

24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.
