Mission update received September 7, 2026.
There is encouraging news from the ZAM school. The mission team reports that the flooring work is complete, staff and volunteer pay has been covered, and most of the children have begun to read. They are still developing fluency, and the team is considering the right next step for pupils approaching secondary school.
The school flooring is complete
The team shared how the flooring became possible: a donor reached out to another person, who provided money for the work. That connection helped fund the school flooring, which the team now confirms is complete.
The photographs shared with this update show the work underway, including the classroom floor and the covered walkway outside. They document the work that led to the completion reported by the team.
Reading progress, with time to grow
Most of the children have picked up reading, according to the team. They are not yet fluent, and developing that fluency remains part of the work ahead.
For the pupils approaching the move to Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS 1), the next step is still being considered. They may begin JSS 1 or spend another year preparing. No final decision has been reported. We are grateful for the progress already made and continue to pray for wisdom as the team considers what will best support their learning.
Thankful for the people serving
The team also expressed thanks for the staff and volunteer pay that has been covered. We join them in appreciating the people who teach, serve, and support the school, and those whose generosity helps make that service possible.
Prayer remains central to the team's life in the community. In sharing this update, they spoke of the prayer invested in the work and of seeing God's hand each day.
