Zechariah 12

¹ This na message from God about Israel: I be the LORD! I stretch out heavens; Na me create the earth, and give man life. He talk say,

² “I don decide say Jerusalem go become bowl of wine wey go make the nations wey dey around am high. And when enemy attack Jerusalem, dem go attack Judah too.

³ But I go turn Jerusalem to heavy stone. All the nation of the world go join force attack am.

⁴ And that time I go make all their horses dey fear and make all their riders go mad. I go watch over people wey dey Judah, but I go make the horse of their enemies go blind.

⁵ Then the clans of Judah go tell themselves say, ‘The LORD God Almighty dey give strength to him people wey dey live for Jerusalem.’

⁶ For that time I go make clans of Judah be like fire for forest or for field of ripe corn – dem go destroy all the nation wey dey around them. The people of Jerusalem go remain safe for the city.

⁷ “I, the LORD, go first give victory to the armies of Judah, so that the honor wey the descendant of David and people of Jerusalem go receive go great pass the one wey Judah get.

⁸ At that time God go protect those wey dey live for Jerusalem, even the one wey dey weak among them go dey strong like David. The descendant of David go lead them like angel of the LORD, like God himself.

⁹ At that time I go destroy every nation wey try to attack Jerusalem.

¹⁰ “I go fill the descendant of David and other people of Jerusalem with the spirit of mercy and prayer. Dem go look the one wey dem don stab to death and mourn am like those wey dey mourn for their only child. Dem go mourn so bitter, like those wey don lost their firstborn son.

¹¹ And that time mourning for Jerusalem go dey great like mourning for Hadad Rimmon.

¹⁴ Each family wey dey the land go mourn by themselves: the family wey descend from David, the family wey descend from Nathan, the family wey descend from Levi, the family wey descend from Shimei and all other families. Each family go mourn by themselves, and men from each family go mourn separate from women.
