Ruth 2

1-

³ One day, Ruth tell Naomi say, “Make I go check if I go find person wey go allow me pick up grain wey harvest workers leave for fields.” Naomi answer say, “Go, my daughter.” Naso Ruth quickly go out to go pick grain for a field. She no know say the person wey get am na Boaz, wey be relative to Naomi husband, Elimelech, and e be rich and and important man.

⁴ When Boaz come back from Bethlehem and go out to him field, he tell him harvest workers say, “God go bless una!” Dem reply say, “God go bless you too!”

⁵ Boaz come ask the man wey dey in charge of harvest worker say, “Who be that young woman?”

⁶ The man answer say, “Na she be the one wey come back from Moab with Naomi.

⁷ She ask if she fit pick up grains wey harvest workers leave behind, and she don dey work since morning, she no rest.”

⁸ Boaz come go to Ruth and say, “I think say e go dey good for you not to dey pick grain for another man field. Stay here with the women,

⁹ and follow them for back, as dem dey gather wetin the men don cut. I don warn the men make dem no bother you, and when you wan drink water, you fit drink from their water bottle.

¹⁰ Ruth bow down to the ground and say, “You know say na from another country I come from. Why you dey so good to me?”

¹¹ Boaz answer say, “I don hear you dey help your mother-in-law since your husband don die. You even leave your father and mother to come live for foreign land with people wey you no know.

¹² I pray say the LORD God of Israel go reward you for wetin you don do. And now wey you don come to him for protection, I pray say he go bless you.

¹³ Ruth come reply say, “Sir, na good thing e be as you dey speak good to me and make me feel good. I no even be one of your servants.”

¹⁴ When time to eat don reach, Boaz tell Ruth say, “Come chop with us. Take some bread and put am inside soup.” She sit down with the workers, and Boaz give some grains wey dem don roast. Ruth eat all she wan eat and take some left over.

¹⁵ When Ruth leave to start dey pick grain, Boaz tell him men say, “No stop her, even if pick grain from where una keep am.

¹⁶ Make una dey sure say una drop some grain for ground for her. And make una no use bad mouth follow her talk!

¹⁷ Ruth work for field take reach evening. Then after she don pound the grain commot for the stack, she get a large basket wey grain full am.

¹⁸ Ruth take the grain to town to go show Naomi how many she don pack. Ruth also give her the food wey remain from her lunch.

¹⁹ Naomi say, “Where you work today? Na which person field e be? God go bless the man wey treat you well like this!” Naso Ruth tell her say she don work for field of a man wey dem dey call Boaz.

²⁰ Naomi come reply say, “God go bless Boaz! He don show say he still dey loyal to the living and dead. Boaz na close relative, one of people wey suppose dey take care of us.”

²¹ Ruth tell her say, “Boaz even talk say I fit stay for the field with him worker until dem don finish to dey harvest all him grain.”

²² Naomi come reply, “My daughter, e dey good say you fit dey pick grain with the women wey work for him field. Who know wetin fit happen to you for another person field!”

²³ So, Ruth stay close to the women as she dey pick grain for him field. Ruth work for the field take reach the time dem dey harvest barley and wheat. And na with Naomi she dey live for all this time.
