Psalms 78
1 My people make una listen to my teaching and pay attention to wetin I wan talk.
2 I go use wise word explain wonders from past,
3 things wey we don hear and wey we know, things wey our ancestor don tell us.
4 We no go keep them from our children; we go tell next generation about the LORD power and all the great and wonderful things wey him don do.
5 Him give law to people of Israel and give commandment to descendant of Jacob. He been instruct our ancestor make dem teach him law to their children,
6 So that the next generation go fit learn am and dem go fit tell their children too.
7 For this way, dem go also put their trust in God and dem no go forget wetin him don do, but dem go always obey him commandment.
8 Dem no go be like their ancestor, wey be rebel and disobedient people, wey their trust in God no dey strong and wey no remain faithful to him.
9 The Euphramites, wey get bow and arrow run away on the day of battle.
10 Dem no keep their covenant with God; dem no gree obey him law.
11 Dem forget wetin him don do, and the miracle wey dem don see him perform.
12 As their ancestor dey watch, God perform miracle for Zoan in the land of Egypt.
13 He divide the sea and carry them pass through am; he make the water stand like wall.
14 For day time he lead them with cloud and lead them with light of fire for night.
15 He been break rock open for desert and give them water from the depth.
16 He been make stream commot from rock and make water flow like river.
17 But dem continue to dey sin against God, and for desert dem go against the Most High.
18 Dem been test God when dem dey ask food wey dem want.
19 Dem speak against God and talk say, Shey God fit supply food for desert?
20 Na true say him strike rock, and water flow commot like stream; but him fit provide us bread and give him people meat?
21 And the LORD vex as he hear them; he con attack him people with fire, and the anger wey him get against them begin dey grow,
22 because dem no get faith in him and dem no believe say him fit save them.
23 But him talk to the sky above and he command the make e open;
24 he give them grain from heaven, as him come send down manna for them to eat.
25 So them chop food of angels, and God give them all dem want.
26 Him make wind blow from east, and with him power he give them soft breeze from the south wind;
27 And him send down bird to him people, like plenty grain of sand wey dey for sea side;
28 Dem fall for the middle of the camp all around the tent.
29 Naso the people chop and dem belleful; God give them wetin dem want.
30 But wetin dem get never satisfy them and dem continue dey chop.
31 God con vex with them and he kill their men wey strong pass, the best young men wey dey Israel.
32 Even as all the people dey sin; even as he dey do miracle dem no still trust him.
33 So he end their day like breath and their lives with disaster all of a sudden.
34 Anytime him kill some of them, the rest go turn to him; dem go repent and pray seriously to him.
35 Dem remember say na God dey protect them, say the Almighty come help them.
36 But na lie dem dey talk; nothing wey dem talk na true.
37 Dem no dey loyal to him; dem no dey faithful to their covenant with him.
38 But God dey merciful to him people. Him forgive their sin and him no destroy them. Many time him don hold him anger and stop him temper.
39 He remember say na just ordinary human being dem be, like wind wey just blow pass.
40 Na different time dem rebel against him for desert; dem make him sad many time!
41 Dem test God again and again and bring pain to Holy God of Israel.
42 Dem forget him great power and the day wey him save them from their enemy
43 and perform him mighty work and miracles for Zoan in the land of Egypt.
44 He turn river to blood, and Egyptian no get water to drink.
45 He send flies among them, wey trouble them and frog wey spoil their land.
46 He send grasshopper to chop their crop and destroy their field
47 He kill their grapevine with storm and kill their fig tree with ice.
48 He kill their cattle with storm and their flock with lightning.
49 He pour out him anger and violence wey cause them great suffer wey come like messenger of death.
50 Him no stop him anger or spare their lives, but he kill them with disease.
51 He kill firstborn son of all Egypt family.
52 He con lead him people commot like shepherd and he guide them through desert.
53 He lead them safely, and dem no fear; but the sea roll over their enemy.
54 Him bring them enter him holy land, to the mountain wey he defeat by himself.
55 He drive away the people wey dey live for there as him people dey come; he divide the land among the tribe of Israel and he give their house to him people.
56 But dem rebel against Almighty God and test him. Dem no obey him command,
57 but dem dey rebel and dem no dey loyal like their ancestor, wey no dey reliable like arrow wey no straight.
58 Dem make him vex with place wey dem dey worship idol, and dem vex him with their idol.
59 God con vex when he see am, naso he reject him people completely.
60 He abandon him tent for Shiloh, the house wey him dey live among us.
61 He allow make our enemy steal the Covenant Box, the sign of him power and glory.
62 He vex with him own people and he allow their enemy kill them.
63 Dem kill young men for war, and young women no get anybody to marry.
64 Priest die for violence, and dem no allow their widow mourn.
65 At last God wake up like say na from sleep; he be like strong man wey dey happy because of wine.
66 He drive him enemy go back with defeat wey dey full of shame.
67 But him reject the descendant of Joseph; him no choose the tribe of Ephraim.
68 Instead na tribe of Judah he choose and Mount Zion, wey him love very well.
69 Na there he build hin Temple like him house for heaven; he make am strong like earth, safe for all time.
70 He choose him servant David; he carry him from the grassland,
71 where him dey look after sheep, and he make am king of Israel, the shepherd of people of God.
72 David no dey selfish as he dey take care of them and he lead them with skill.
