I dey cry loud to God; I cry loud, and him dey hear me.

For time of trouble I dey pray to the Lord; all night I dey lift my hand in prayer, but I no fit find comfort.

When I think of God, I whisper; when I dey meditate, I dey feel discouraged.

Him dey keep me awake for night; I dey worry say I no fit talk.

I dey think of days wey don pass and years of long ago.

I dey spend my night to dey think; I dey meditate, and this na wetin I dey ask myself:

“Shey God go dey reject us always? Him go ever dey happy with us?

Him don stop to dey love us? Him promise no dey stand for us again?

God don forget to dey merciful? Or shey anger don take over the place wey mercy suppose dey?’’

I con talk say, “Wetin pain me pass be say God no get power again.”

I go remember the great thing wey you don do, LORD, I go remember the wonder wey you don do for past.

I go think of everything wey you don do; I go meditate on all your mighty work.

O God, all the things wey you don do dey holy. No God dey great like you.

Na you be God wey dey do miracle; you dey show how mighty you be for all nation.

With your power you don save your people, the descendant of Jacob and Joseph.

O God, when the water see you, dem fear, and the depth of the sea dey shake.

The cloud dey pour down like rain; thunder come down from the sky, and lightning dey flash for all direction.

Your thunder dey crash roll out, and flash of lightning light up the whole world; the earth dey shake.

You waka through wave; you been cross the deep sea, but nobody fit see your footprints.

You lead your people like shepherd, and Moses and Aaron dey in charge.
